On a night when Shogun and BJ get soundly defeated, is it safe to say that there is officially state the stars of the 2000s are done? Fedor retired and was obviously past his prime. Rampage is years beyond his prime. Hughes retired.
There are a few guys still left like Hendo, Lyoto and Anderson but they seem to be the rare exception. Is there really anyone left from that era that still looks as good as ever??
bornop - I think you mean changing of thr garb
I definitely see what you did there!
I thought it was changing of The Garv?

GSP, Fitch, Rashad, Dan Henderson, Vitor, Koscheck, and Condit.
It really has been a changing of the guard the past 3 years though.
That Cruickshank impressed me tons tonight.
yes and unfortunately the guys who are replacing them focus more on points than on fighting. You think shogun or BJ would have let their opponents get to the final bell if they were beating them like rory and gustaffson were?
BJ and SHogun deserved a soldiers death... but unfortunately point fighting is becoming more and more important every year.
Chain jing of thug hard.

Agreed though I HATE his nickname (I'm from Detroit, bothers me, total hater). He looked great. I want to see how he does in his upcoming bouts.

I guess I think of guys like GSP and Fitch to be not quite as old as Penn in fight years but it's true they are in that area. It's crazy to think Penn has spent more time in the Octagon than anyone in UFC history after surpassing Tito tonight.

The only thig tonight proved is that younger guys are better at cuttig weight. This is also true for Fedor except for the Henderson fight.
