Is this a real job?

I read that in antarctica there is a job that consists of helping penguins get up on their feet. When a plane is flying over them they want to look at it and fall on their backs and cant get up. And your job is to pick them up. Does this kind of work exist?

I would think not.

Who would actually pay you to do it that? Phone Post 3.0

I actually applied a few years back for a job at a US Research station handling core samples. Did not get the job but I was psyched to have everyone ask me where the hell I've been for the last 6 months. Phone Post 3.0

yep, it was bullshit

I have been to Antarctica and the penquins do not fall down and have no problem getting up if they do.

And I have been to the Post Office there.

It looks like they're on snow when you see them from a distance on the nature documentaries, but I can tell you from experience that it's anywhere from 12-24" of penguin shit.

Yes, it's a job and yes, I have done it. Try walking through two feet of frozen bird shit in a parka when it's 80 below (Fahrenheit? Centigrade? At that point, it doesn't matter) and your eyelashes are freezing together from all the steamy bird shit causing moisture to condense on them. Try wiping your eyes clean with a glove full of bird shit.

Yeah, it's a job. You get "hazard pay" for a reason. Every season two or three people have to be shipped back (usually via emergency helicopter medevac to a US Navy ship) because they slipped and got a frozen shitcicle impaled through their torso. And since you're there 24/7, the pay equates to about $6.35 an hour. But you get to save the cute little penguins, so you got that going for you!

I fucking hate penguins.
