In the new Taylor Swift song I heard her say "we can leave the Christmas lights up 'till January", that's literally only 6 days after Christmas. Do you guys take them down immediately? In Canada I think we still have them going in February lol

Don't other countries take down the decorations by the twelfth night? It's considered bad luck to have them up longer than that here in the UK.

I guess for the most part here we probably leave them up because nobody wants to go back on the roof in our cold ass winters

In Colombia they all stay up until January 15th. That's considered Xmas season there. Xmas in Colombia is a huge deal and a big party.

On Sept 1st my Halloween stuff goes up. On Nov 1st the Halloween stuff comes down and Christmas goes up. Christmas stays up until the evil Pittsburgh winters break and I get a decent dry and warm weekend to take them down.

I left mine up all year. Plugged them in last night for the first time.

We put them up the weekend after Thanksgiving and take them down after new years.

Traditionally, for Catholics (like my former self) the tree and lights should stay up until the 7th of January (The Epiphany, when the 3 wise men visited the baby Jesus).  Also, the 12 days of Christmas actually start on the 25th of December and end on Jan 7th, another reason to leave them up til then.

 

 

Now, in the spirit of the coming season, I'll go fuck myself.
