Hey, I thought in the Kashiwazaki book it described Okano as getting pinned when he worked that choke from the bottom - whereas this clip shows him on the attack right from the start of the sequence ... hmmm, mabe I remember wrong, gotta go and re-read it.

There was an instant where he WAS pinned, he just worked out of it nicely, and apparently had the choke on at the same time.
looks like people on the side notice the guys is out before the ref does...
judo refs have always been really bad with noticing when people get choked out.
I think no one (except Okano) really understood what he was doing or trying to do.
When I say no one I am not being literal. I am sure there were a few who understood what Okano was up to. BUT I do think there were alot of people who had no clue what Okano was trying to do and ultimately successfully did.
