Jacare WaS ROBBED

Irule - The 50-45 was ridiculous, but that was a fair decision.

This.

MOFuKA - 100% agree... Only in America can u get taken down, dropped by punches, and still win a fight. BS decisions... <img src="/images/phone/post_tag.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>

THIS. its because jacare was using wrestling effectively and no ones brain could compute because they expect bjj. jacare is and has always been one of the greatest takedown guys on the planet.

Cause he was throwing fancy kicks? Jacare dropped him 3 times... To me gassed or not, Buckling someone with punches is way more of a statement than finishing a round strong or throwing spinning kicks. Jacare won that fight... Phone Post

 THIS.

cycklops -  I had 4-1 Rockhold. (losing the first)

Dont understand how it could be seen any different.

I'm not sure a takedown should really matter for anything unless you keep the guy there and actually achieve something offensively with said takedown. Taking a guy down for him to stand back up sounds like a wash to me...you performed a technique, then your opponent negated it. Shouldn't count for much....

Jacare did nothing with his takedown attempts. So you might as well pretend as though they never happened....

The fight was so frustrating. I wanted to see good BJJ but Rockhold was so afraid to be on the ground (with good reason.)

Sometimes I just don't know what people see when they watch fights. How does anyone see jacare getting robbed? He lost clearly to me 4/5 rds. Phone Post

50-45 it was not I had Rockhold winning last 3 rounds, round 2 was pretty close

It wasn't clear. I agree it was close. The criteria for winning a fight from the judges isn't clear. Some people saw the agression and lots of punches thrown (most blocked/missed) and thought Rockhold won. Some people (like me) saw more powerful damaging punches and takedowns (most that got stood up right away) and thought Jacare won.

Agree. Jacare won that fight.

More damage, the only takedowns, attempts to finish, etc. I am not sure Rockhold landed a shot the first round, yet Pat had him winning it? I think the judges were listening to Pat and Mauro act as if Luke was landing when he was missing.

I agree if a guy performs a technique and you negate it, it shouldn't count for much. If a guy throws a punch and you block it, it shouldn't count. if a guy throws a kick and you block it, it shouldn't count.

fights should be scored on most effective defense, not offense.

uhh, wait a minute......

50-45 no. But the decision was correct IMO. Phone Post

Or offense that is actually effective (I.E. not instantly negated or blocked.) ;)

Look I'm all for not counting tds without any follow thru...but let's be honest how many fights have you seen in the past where a td wins a fight? Phone Post

Apparently we should count ineffective offensive technique...hell we should start counting feints and jab pumps as well, you know for consistency...

to sum up the fight jacare won one round and the others were to rockhold because of effective striking, it wasnt a exciting fight but it wasnt boring either, jacare looked to tentative in this fight and did not deserve to win correct decision. if you think jacare won more than 2 rounds please tell me how thank you.

To me i saw jacare landing a few heavy counters but ate tons of jabs and kicks.  I think jacare got somewhat frankied.  good fight bring them both to the ufc they would be great additions.
