Jackson: Johnson going to be a real challenge

<p>Some fans and media consider Anthony Johnson the biggest threat to Jon Jones' title since he became champion. Whether or not that is true, coach Greg Jackson knows that the hard hitting fighter is definitely a big challenge for his fighter:</p>
"We've cornered against Johnson before, and he is such an impressive dude," Jackson said. "His punch, good Lord, that thing hits hard. He is going to be a real challenge. That's a loaded gun that can go off at any time.
"I'm good with whoever they put in front of Jon. I don't have any preferences. I'm not like, 'Oh, I wish you could fight so-and-so, because it hardly ever works out that way. Whoever they put in front of me, that's who I have to solve."
I would think this would be one if Jones easier fights. A hard striker with takedown defense but no kicks or submissions. Jones will oblique kick and eye poke him for 5 rounds.
StrikingMMA - Jones really does have a great chin. Jones also has a very creative attack. Both guys have their work cut out for them.
Gus has a great chin, too.
He took a lot of punches on the ground while turtled. He didn't really move much and maybe that's because of how hard Johnson hits but I would think jones would be better at avoiding damage on the ground.

They both have good chins...but good chin or not, if Rumble connects clean, anyone is going down.
Not entirely true. He connected clean on AA and it wasn't over. Hell it broke his jaw but he couldn't finish AA who the Underground would label as having a glass jaw.
The strike that knocks you out isn't always the hard one; it's the one you never saw coming. Evidently, as hard as AJ hits, he never managed to surprise AA enough for him not to roll with the strikes.
this could either be an easy fight for Jones or a brutal 5 rounder if Rumbles gas tank is up for the long haul and he can keep his power in the later rounds.

Anthony has a pretty high fight iq himself. He's faster and more explosive than Jones, and he can knock him out with one punch. This is a pretty good fight for the last we'll de Jones at Light Heavy.
SensoriaUtopia - Honest question, no sarcasm, sinceredly asking, what does Anthony do better than Glover? Anthony hits hard as fuck, but I think Glover can hit as hard maybe even harder. Anthony I don't think has superior wrestling either than Glover, I mean Phil maybe took Glover down twice and Glover got up quick and Jones took Glover down only 1 time in 5 rounds, and Anthony is not as clever a grappler as Glover, Jon took some hard punches from Glover,
So what does AJ bring that Glover did not? I think Glover is better than AJ, just my view
Speed. AJ is faster than Glover and therefore more likely to land punches that JJ won't see coming.
I think Jon will win, but AJ definitely presents a different type of challenge.

Jones is the most creative, dynamic fighter at LHW. He has the superior fight IQ.
I'm not implying AJ is an intellectually challenged fighter but I'd give Jones the edge.
Likewise I'd give AJ the edge in the power and explosiveness department.
