I was unable to see any of his matches but heard he did not perform as expected...did hear him on Stern just after opening cremonies and mentioned he was getting shoulder surgery imm following games and would be out 8 months. Wonder how much that affected him.

Cael beat him in the US team trials last year. Which is essentially like the Olympic Trials on a non-olympic year. But Sanderson decided to not participate in the Olympic trials.
