Anyone know if Shields bulked up while still adhering to a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet?
out of all the vegetarian diets, this would probably be the easiest to gain weight with.
as a consummate professional I am always looking for the edge in competition and vegetarian diets make a good amount of sense when trying to maintain a good ph balance in your body.
I didn't know he was a vegetarian!
I'm glad someone said something about Shields. He had that "pumped" look even before the fight started. I need to eat more veggies lol.
yeah, but any google searches don't really provide any in depth info...just that he is lacto-ovo
I am in a constant process of tinkering with diet; trying anything from vegetarian to paleo-diet.
What were those lumps on his back? Has he always had them?
TTT for Shields and answers!
As cheesy as it sounds, I bought one of those Jack LaLanne Juicers and have been "juicing' for a month.
You drink 2 servings a day and throw in a sweet potato and some almonds and walnuts in during the day to keep your metabolism up. I still eat meat, so a piece of fish or chicken for protein.
Juice serving 1:
1 whole grapefruit
1 whole apple
1 whole orange or banana
1/2 pomegranate
Juice serving 2:
2 carrot sticks
1 big celery stick
1 whole tomato
broccoli or spinach
I've been able to buy about a week's worth of juicing items for around $26 per week.
The goal is to get 4 fruits and vegetables in you each day.
This will make you feel like a spring chicken for sure minus all of the salt, sugar and other additives you get from processed junk.
(does 13 consecutive back flips into a cartwheel while writing this post)

Diet is a motherfucka, I'm always looking for different diets. I have a very hard time eating healthy with good variety. Tom if you get some free time I would love to see a sample of your daily or weekly diet.

steak and chicken, WITH EVERY MEAL!!!!!
Id have to agree with steak and chicken. If it works for shamrock it has to be good.
TomLawlor,
If you are interested in this type of diet, I would chat to Luke Cummo. He's a raw food vegan paleo. I dont agree with everything he says, but I would imagine that there's a lot to learn from him. He's pretty forth-coming with information.

DRINK YOUR PEEEEEEEEE
I'm sure it isn't too hard to get in touch with Shields or his people if Lawlor wants to take that route.
I played H20 Polo in college and I'm a lifelong athlete...Been a veggie since High School (no meat, fish, chicken, etc.).
