Jan vs. Prime Anderson Silva

imo Silva does a much better job than Izzy. I think he wins as well even if taken down. I think he would have been more aggressive rather than trying to throw energy waves via feints.

There’s been much said about Stylebender being eons ahead of in striking in today’s MMA world/middleweight division. But a nonconcussed, chin cracked, not much older Silva had more pop in his punches and was lightyears ahead on the ground compared to Adesanya.

Silva by K.O. He had way more power and even though he had no takedown defense he was way savier on the ground.

In addition to Silva having higher level, more effective bjj, I also think he was bigger and stronger than Izzy, which helps Anderson on the ground as well.

Without question. Izzy was exposed at having an extremely limited and ineffective ground game. I mean I easily know 20-30 guys with a better ground game, if not wayyyyy more.

The only fighters in UFC LHW history who have any chance of beating Prime Silva are Jones & Cormier

The Silva who fought Forrest would obliterate Jan.

Silva was a lot bigger. But, similarly struggled with fighters who don’t rush forward and with takedowns in space. I think Jan wins a fairly similar fight.

And I’d give PRIME Anderson (who fought Hendo) a chance against the Jones of the last 2-3 fights. And he didn’t look the worst against that last minute 3 day step-in against Cormier either.

Think so? 6’2" 77.5 inch reach vs. 6’4" 80 inch reach. But probably def a little bit chunkier. PreWeidman KO he was pretty aggressive against Bonnar, Okami, Griffen, etc. He just looked lackluster in wins against certain folks such as Maia.

Prime Anderson melts him, Golver, Santos, Reyes, you could go on and on.

I'm pretty sure Forrest was the 205# champ in the fight before he fought AS.

Prime Anderson was just on a whole different level.

Anderson actually would hit his opponents and not feint and act the fool the entire time (minus those fights, yes we all know). Adesanya is a poor man’s Anderson Silva for sure!

He has a ton of skill, the perfect build and genetics but doesn’t have a well rounded game at all. Can’t wrestle for shit and has no ground game at all. Anderson Silva could defense wrestle well and obviously had a solid ground game.

Adesanya just proved he needs to stay at 185lbs, too many bigger, stronger, ground game heavy guys at LHW and HW.

Simply put, Silva cut weight to get to 205, I believe. Izzy was five pounds under. So, that’s what I meant but bigger. With that weight comes strength, power, and TDD/ability to get back to the feet.

He countered Bonnar and Griffin and was so many levels above Okami that it didn’t really matter. In general, Silva was always better countering and not nearly as good leading.

Ped’s or no Ped’s?

Silva got dominated by Weidman. There’s a bunch of lhw’s who would hurt him, including Jan

No doubt. Styles makes fights. Jan fights nothing like Weidman the way Izzy & Silva don’t really fight similarly but have been compared (at least in striking).

Jan beats prime Anderson like a rented mule. Size matters

Guys today are so well rounded they would make guys like prime Silva look ordinary.   Silva may out point Jan whos not the most crisp striker (but he's no slouch either) but it definitely wouldn't be like the Griffin clinic.  I think Prime Silva has trouble with guys like Adesanya, Vettori, and Costa who will either keep pressure on him or negate his skill set.

I'd love to seen Prime Silva take on the Rockhold who starched Weidman.

Jan but I'm assuming it's current rules so Anderson Silva doesn't get to cheat and use steroids.

Pre USADA Weidman was a beast. No shame in losing to him.
