With all the talk of the UFC paying their mid and low level guys peanuts, I thought I should pass this along. I was just reading the march 14 issue of The Wrestling Observer, and found out that Lambert made $68,000 for his fight against Babalu. That's 9k to show, 9k to win, 25k for best KO, and another 25k for fight of the night. Babalu made 21k to show and 25k for fight of the night (for a total of 46k). It was decided to give the fight of the night bonuses to lower paid guys rather than Couture and Sylvia, who didn't really need the money.
Basically, this is more proof that Zuffa does take care of their fighters (contrary to popular belief).
It would have been nice to see him and a bunch of other fighters (who weren't in the Fight of the Night and didn't have the Best KO) be assured of at least $10,000, though... dontcha think?

This way, there's a lot of motivation to do well. Start the lesser known guys at 3k/3k and if they do well, increase their pay. If they don't, give them another shot at the same pay and if they lose again, send them packing. If they keep winning, keep increasing their pay. And if they're in really exciting fights, give them a bonus.
Here is how the bonus money for UFC 68 played out:
Lambert got 25k for A fight of the night and 25K for KO/TKO of the night.
Babalu got 25k for A fight of the night.
Kampmann got 25k for A fight of the night and for Sub of the night.
Mcfries got 25k for A fight of the night.
So they handed out bonuses to two fights for fight of the night.
"Jason has excellent management behind him as well"
That very well may be true, but they're not responible for the KO over Babalu or the the bonuses for best fight and best KO. Jason earned that money by himself.
It's kind of funny. If Babalu had won a moderately exciting decision, he would have gotten 42k (21k to show, 21k to win). But by getting KO'd in a really exciting fight, he got an extra four grand.
