JDS wrestling

One thing I found interesting on the primetime show is watching the big strong (but appeared slow) four time all American wrestle and spar with JDS. Then Dave Camarillo talked about how cain was a successful wrestler because of his ability to flow through different attacking techniques. He was a small college heavyweight. Will the different wrestling styles of JDS training partner and Cain be a factor in the fight? Phone Post

Cain is an anamoly. HW with the conditioning of a LW

So you don't think JDS will be prepared for Cains wrestling? Phone Post

I dont think its possible to prepare for Cains wrestling as there is no HW out there with his physical ability.

Junior needs to put him away early. Otherwise Cains insane pace will break him

Who is this supposed 4x All-American? It's to make an evaluation between him and Cain w/o knowing who he is.

Cain wrestled at ASU which is cream of the crop and bullied big guys. You saw his wrestling style in the Lesnar fight. I don't see JDS's wrestling ever coming close to ASU levels, but he doesn't have to. This is MMA and not pure wrestling. His dangerous hands combined with wrestling defense are frightening and a threat to anyone.

I think this fight in the early rounds is going to come down to who is winning the transitions. Who is working that gap and moments in between striking and the clinch. If Cain gets to the clinch, JDS is going down. He can wrestle daily with Cormier for 4 months and it wouldn't be enough. However if he maintains a distance like he did with Carwin, and makes Cain respect his hands he is on his way to winning.

The other transitional point that will determine the fight will be HOW JDS stands back up. We've been seeing people lately just muscle their way up without wrestling technique and getting blasted with elbows or suplexes. BJJers need to know that wrestling is soooooooo much more than takedowns. Par terre or matwork is a vast science unto itself that has been largely ignored.

No shit? DII and Juco IIRC. Dude is a beast. Nowhere near the level of Cain in terms of skill, but size-wise and perhaps strenf the same. Good for JDS getting a high quality wrestler in his camp. How long has Josh been there? Is this new for the team? I thought they just did kickboxing and BJJ. I'd like to know how long they have been working with him.

sub dude

He first started working with JDS in July of 2011
