Jeff Monson: "We are working on it now"

latmmrh - rather see monson over belfort

"Monson has about as much chance as Belfort, and a loss would hurt his standing less than it would hurt Vitor's. "

How would a heavyweight's standing be hurt less by a loss to a fellow heavyweight than a 185er losing to the same heavy?

Monson is a decent replacement actually, considering Overeem is hurt and Werdum and Rogers are apparenlty out

Very interesting matchup if it happens, I like it...

Monson would be a good replacement, not quite as good of chances as barnett, but very close.

i WISH it was overeem

Rather see Vitor.

I said ages ago that Monson would be the man to beat Fedor

Only time will tell.

Monson is too slow onthe feet and has short arms= quick ko for fedor

What a horrible turn of events.

Instant, boring, fail...

Fedor by brutal assault.

Steve4192 -
Card -  Anybody but Belfort please... We must save Vitor Belfort vs Jorge Santiago

 This.

I am really looking forward to Vitor-Santiago.  If they pull Vitor out of that fight, they'll end up fucking up two fights rather than just one.

Outgrappled by Tim Sylvia and basically the only guy in ages to NOT wreck Rizzo standing.

orcus - Outgrappled by Tim Sylvia and basically the only guy in ages to NOT wreck Rizzo standing.

He was NOT outgrappled by sylvia.

I like Monson vs Fedor, as long as it keeps Vitor vs Santiago intact.

Monson vs Fedor
Santiago vs Vitor
Babalu vs Mousasi
Buentello vs Yvel
Gomi vs Tractor

That is still one hell of a show.

JDV - ugh, no desire to see Monson/Fedor...

He could barely get Timmay down, and did nothing with it. He has no stand up threat to Fedor, and he's not going to submit him. He doesn't even have a puncher's chance, really.
iirc he had trouble getting past Tim's jab.  The reach discrepancy was too large.  Fedor doesn't have Tims reach.

Monson could sub him from a north/south choke. It would be awful to see fedor go to sleep.
