JFK assassination buffs:

I have read a number of books and watched several docs on the assassination and conspiracy theories. So many theories on who was involved and why...Te shots must have come from the front/ no ,they came from the back/ there was a crossfire, came from front from a trajectory from a ground level storm drain...

My question, among many is this: when Oswald was in New Orleans and handing out pro Castro literature, the address on the fliers were from a guy's office named Guy Bannister, iirc. He ,or whoever the address belonged to was an ex FBI or CIA guy who was very much anti Castro ,like many prominent people in New Orleans at the time. What was Oswald up to posing as a pro Castro advocate based out of an anti Castro organizations office?

In the book Dr.M's Monkey, which I highly recommend, the author explains this but I can't remember his explanation. He chronicles Oswald and Ferrie's activities in New Orleans and they were anything but pro Castro.

The book isn't a JFK assassination book but involves many of the players and ties them to other interesting activities. I have recommended this book on this site on other occasions. While watching the doc about the KGB's analysis of the JFK assassination last night, they showed and mentioned Oswald handing out those fliers but did not mention the address listed on the fliers. That made me think of this.

Not to sound overly like Rogan, but there is so much fuckery surrounding the JFK assassination that no one is going to know the real answer. I do not believe Oswalt acted alone though.

I heard this story on the higher side chats podcast.

Fucking amazing story with so many different intersections of people and interests makes it a little hard to believe. Phone Post 3.0

I was all in on the multi shooter angel, but as I get older, I at this point think Oswald just got a lucky shot Phone Post 3.0

I'd buy that. It's 100% possible to get lucky and hit that shot on a moving target from that angle with a crappy bolt action rifle. It is possible, and been recreated. But, getting the location rerouted. Jack Rubys involvement. And the fact that Giraldo was the first one to show the footage. Lots of fuckery.

It was only 88 yards... Not exactly the impossible shot people make it out to be Phone Post 3.0

I agree, not an impossible shot. But the rifle wasn't sighted perfectly, the moving speed of the target was constantly changing, Oswalt had between 4.8-5.6 seconds to fire 3 shots and nerves of shooting at the president. Lots of factors against ya, but it is possible.

The supposed impossibility of the shots Oswald got off were actually duplicated many, many times.

One of the weirder theories I ever read about poses that a Secret Service agent in the entourage behind the JFK limo accidentally fired the killing headshot.....I forget the name of the book now. Oswald misses his shots, and in the chaos the agent accidently fires his weapon hitting Kennedy.

I wax and wane over whether there was a conspiracy. One of the things that makes me thinks there might have been is that video of Ruby in jail alluding to a conspiracy.

Some documentaries I have sen interview doctors who were ,allegedly, on duty when Kennedy arrived at Parkland. In the documentaries, they said that there was an massive wound in the back of the head and that laws were broken when Kennedy's body was whisked away.

Kennedy pissed off big oil by pushing to make them pay their fair share of taxes( look up the Bushes alleged ties to conspiracy theories), pissed off the CIA in the Bay of Pigs, feuded w/ the FBI, sent his brother to squash the mob after they were instrumental in getting him elected, wanted to do away with the Federal Reserve, etc. He had some pretty powerful enemies.

One huge question in a long list of huge questions is: if there was a lone gunman, how is releasing all the information possibly a threat to national security?

Most people agree, the Warren Commission was/is a joke. look who headed it up, a man Kennedy fired . For those who haven't researched this, it is fascinating.

It's not only the distance that you have to consider.

How about shooting through the leaves of the Texas Oak tree that partially blocked the last shot?

The 3 shots take place a total of 5.6 seconds from the first shot to the final third shot. From a bolt action rifle. Can you fire 3 shots from a bolt action rifle in 5.6 seconds with the LAST shot being the most accurate at a moving target at long distance through tree branches and leaves?

JFK was a moving target.

There is no damn way one shooter fired all the shots. Just not possible.

It was closer to 8 seconds, the tree was pretty sparse (check the season) and Oswald was a lifelong hunter... His own brother says he took out running rabbits and squirrels in trees even as a kid

The more you learn about Oswald the clearer it becomes he acted alone Phone Post 3.0
