Jim Lampley Don't Know Sh it

He thought Leon Spinks beat Larry Holmes. He and Larry (where's my meds) Merchant suck. And so does that loud mouthed jerkoff Harold Lederman.

The only good thing about HBO boxing broadcasts are Manny, Roy and Big George.

I wholeheartedly agree. I especially don't like that self-righteous windbag, Merchant, who believes he's the most important interviewer of our time.

I must say I enjoy tracking Merchant's alcohol consumption throughout the show. He is ripped at the end.

lampley may not be the most knowledgeable commentator but he at least sounds professional and is certainly the anchor of the crew he works with.

Merchant on the other hand needs beat down

They have a great team.

I was annoyed at how they kept calling Spinks "inexperienced". The guy has 32 fights and all three belts and he is inexperienced? Huh?

Roy Jones said Spinks was less experienced and Lampley qualified it "you mean experience in big fights?"

Lampley made an error I believe. Anyone who has heard him guest hosting for Jim Rome knows he is very knowledgable on the sport and surely he remembers such an important fight (for so many reasons) as Spinks x Holmes I. That was a great fight.

The inexperience they were talking about goes to the amount of amatuer and pro fights Spinks has had in COMPARISON to Judah. Judah has fought alot more bouts coming up throught the ranks. Doesn't make him better though...

Lampley also corrected his error. It happens to all of us.

In case you missed it, the incident they refferred to went down like this:

Holmes was poised to tie Marciano's 49-0 mark as an undefeated champion. Micheal Spinks was a lightheavyweight who had moved up to challenge for the crown.

After Holmes lost by a narrow margin in a great fight, Merchant asked about his feelings on Marciano. Marciano's brother was in attendance and was openly rooting against Holmes (to save the record).

Holmes said, in referrence to Marciano. "Rocky Marciano couldn't hold my jock!"

which is where that saying comes from.
