Job decision question

Job A:

pay 75k

2 weeks vacation

low stress, low responsibilities

40 hours/week, can leave early on fridays

job B

pay 95k

1 week vacation

high stress high responsibility

50-60 hr work weeks

I chose job A

A

Take b and can i have your a job. !!!!

That's a close one. Depends what's most important to you I guess.

Any chance you'll eventually make more at job A? Any chance the stress levels / hours will decrease at B as you gain experience?

Also which one will prepare you best for the next job after that? The one where you'll make 100k+?

They say 75k is the line where making more than that won't increase happiness.

B is $36/hour max, almost certainly less.
A is guaranteed $36/hour with better benefits.

How is this even a question? You that lousy at math?

stress can fuck your health

The extra 20k a year was really tempting. I actually left job B about 6 months ago and my previous employer has been trying really hard to get me back. I finally humored them and listened to their offer. I was making 65k there and was being over worked and was miserable.

95k a year sounded very appealing

A and it’s really not a close debate

Job A pays better based on a 40 hour week. If you worked 50 hours at job A, you'd be making 103k a year if you were to figure out hourly and overtime. Job A, no question.

Depends on where you’re at in life, what your family situation is, what your financial needs are, what type of advancement opportunities each job offers, etc.

All that aside, you should easily be able to come up with a side hustle to make up the extra $20k a year, and that can be done at your discretion and as needed.

But it'd depend on future opportunities as well. Maybe there's little chance of moving up in the company with option A whereas with B you could get promoted down the line. We also don't know about your health either.

For only 20k differential? Job A, no brainer.

What are the future opportunities related to each job?

Option A, without a doubt, but that is just me.

Job A.

Lower stress = Better life.

"The extra 20k a year was really tempting. "

It's not extra money. It's less money. Just more hours. Use those to do something else of value.
