Hey Joe,
Just wanted to drop you a line coming from a guy with tons of cuts and scars especially on his face. Ive got one on my forehead that was just as deep and a little longer than the one you got.
Dont let it get you down. I know how it feels to look in the mirror after the fact and go damn.
Watching your vlog i would take the docs advice and get those stiches out now if you havent already. The problem with stiches is it could be pulling to tight at the cut creating the skin to me misaligned or even to loose (this creates a scar along with the stich holes). Your skin will stick back together in a couple of days but is usually still weak so if you think its coming apart after you remove the stitches use liquid band aid. Ive used this so many times in lieu of stichtes, but on a cut like yours you had to use stitches obiously.
The other big piece of advise i can give that is the most important post recovery is use vitamin E OIL. Dont use all those scar creams. They have a much lower dose of vitamin e in them and that is what heals your skin beyond belief. I would put it on the cut for a few months at least. About 90% of cut healing happens 6 months post cut. If you do that you wont be able to find the cut later even if it went down to your skull.
The problem with alot of deep facial cuts is they go into muscle since our skull skin is so thin and that can show later as a scar. Vitamin E OIL pretty much fixes all underneath too over time. You cant go overboard with this stuff. The stuff i have in my cabinet is 70,000 iu just for example.
Excellent post. I'll vote you up later.
Not meaning to hijack the thread but about a year ago my 6 year old girl fell and got a cracker of a cut/scar on her forehead. Over the year it has gotten better. Is there anything I can do now to help or have I missed the boat?
TTT
Nice.

yeah you can try and still put it on and massage it into the tissue. Vitamin E oil is like gold when it comes to skin abrasions/trauma. Its always worth a shot as it doesnt really cost much to do it.
My 6yr old daughter got kicked in the cheek by a horse once and we put it on her face for 1yr afterward. She had some deep tissue trauma, but you cant even tell anymore a year and a half later.
Face scars are cool, like Omar from The Wire.
Matt Perry - Very nice and thoughtful post.
