Joe Stevenson is just not mean enough for mma

Now he is a great fighter and he has taken some serious punishment in the past. But there is just something about him when he fights. It's like he's just too nice in the cage.

The opposite would be Kenflo. That is just one mean mother fucker in the cage. He has that ability to flip the switch and you can see in his eyes that he is not the same person as he was before the bell sounded. You could say the same thing about Diego. He turns into an evil man in his fights.

That's why it's just hard to pick Stevenson anymore in fights. I think he has all the tools but I don't know if he can crank it up to that next level to compete with the top tier of the division.

He likes to elbow people in the face because he is so nice?

please stop trolling. Being "mean" has nothing to with success or failure in the sport.

"He likes to elbow people in the face because he is so nice?"

Well, you obviously gotta be some sort of sick in the head to do that to somebody you have no problem with. Compared to other people though, he just doesn't seem to have that last bit of something to put him to the top. Guess it could be as simple as him losing to really good guys.

I didn't word the thread right. He's probably in my top 3 fighters I want to win when they fight because he does seem like a really good guy. I don't know if I want to say mean or intensity or how I'm trying to word it. Whatever Kenflo has in the cage, that's the mean I'm talking about.

I would pick Joe over Marcus again today even with the size difference. Swick who doesnt even come from a wrestling background took Marcus down every time. Lytle would most likely have done the same if Davis had not trolled him into standing with him

You realize this thread all but assures that Joe comes out and smashes Diego?

Anderson is nice too...it doesnt stop him from repeatedly punching an opponents face in before he dances and smiles and continues his nice ways

After watching the big grin on his face all through his last fight and the decision he lost, I'm not sure he has the competitive drive that will allow him to do something notable in such a tough division.
