Just seems like if they were really sparring...that Josh would have to be pulling punches or going less than 100%.

his story was ridiculous. Saying that Barnett blamed a loss to Noguera on sparring with JWP.
How is that believable at all to you?
I don't know the full story. I was assuming that JWP claimed to have hurt/beat Barnett in sparring? if so I think it's believable.

Why make a video reiterating the same points, pretty much verbatim from the JRE podcast, if the story is a lie? Either JWP is telling the truth, relaying the story as he recalls it, or he is a pathological liar. I seriously doubt its the latter.
I obviously can't say for sure what happened, but his story seems believable, and his character has never been questioned before. Plus, it'd be a weird thing to lie about to begin with. It's not like he said he sparred with Josh, ko'd him, made him his bitch etc. The story wasnt that grandiose.
A Muay Thai champ got the best of a MMA fighter in sparring, its not that hard to believe. And it's not that hard to believe Josh was wound a little tight, being only a few weeks out from his fight, and got pissed and threw his gloves etc. Yes it was just sparring, but that close to his fight I'm sure he was in ultra competitive mode.
Who knows what the fuck happened with the sparring, and the call from EP. I tend to believe the guy who hasn't had credibility issues, and a giant ego. But at the end of the day, who gives a fuck. It was 9 years ago. I hope this isn't a running diatribe between the 2, and they can just turn the page on this shit.

I'm far more inclined to believe JWP. He told a story about how Eric Paulson called him and blamed Joshs loss on him.
In his story, he didn't beat Josh up, just got in and out before Josh could do much.
Josh twisted that, saying JWP claimed he did. Before trying to refute it.
Take from that what you will.

Also to add one last thing. Everything I've seen from JWP, interviews, videos etc for over 10 yaers now
He has always seemed like one of the nicest, most humble martial artists out there. I have never questioned his credibility. He does not seem like the type of person to make something like this up for no reason. I just felt like Barnett or Paulson or at least SOMEONE would know who he is if he came in to train. I could be completely wrong.. maybe my perspective is skewed becuase I've been a gigantic kickboxing and Muay Thai fan for years so these guys are like household names to me.
K1 was gigantic in the Japanese fight scene. Wish I could've gone to one of those events in their prime, MAX or WGP
I imagine some of CSW would have known who he was, probably Josh and Eric most of all.
But for most of the gym, some guy just turned up, gives up 30kgs to Barnett and effectively gets the better of him in sparring. It's not exactly looking good for Josh.
I understand where you're coming from, and I'm not trying to attack you. Just present a different perspective.
I knew who JWP was before Ernesto Hoost. That doesn't mean he's more famous. It's all just on what sport you follow first, and pay more attention to. And honestly, lots of Americans have no idea about any of the rest of the world. Guys training for MMA probably got into it watching Chuck or Randy or Tito in the UFC, not seeing some guy fight in Thailand or Japan, unfortunately.
Jwp seems like a real genuine with permanent smile wrinkles , I'd like to believe him over a known liar in the war master .
