According to noted oddsmaker Nick Kalikas of BetOnFighting.com, it's none other than the current Bantamweight Champion himself, Dominick Cruz. "The Dominator" opens as the landslide -425 favorite headed into his title defense against Demetrious Johnson at UFC on Versus 6 on Oct. 1 in Washington D.C.
"Mighty Mouse" comes in as the heavy underdog at +325.
I wish Cruz's fights would take place outside of the octagon. Only in sanctioned fights does hitting a guy 500 times w/o hurting him constitute 'winning' the fight.
Freakin 10er - I wish Cruz's fights would take place outside of the octagon. Only in sanctioned fights does hitting a guy 500 times w/o hurting him constitute 'winning' the fight.
Go look up some kimbo slice street fights if you want to see 2 guys stand in front of each other and see who gets dropped first. This is a sport, and a sanctioned fight, might not be for you if all you want to see is brutal ko's every fight. Cruz battered bowles, knocked down jourgenson and definitely banged up benevidez. The fact is, the guy has fought some monsters, the BEST 135ers in the world, god forbid he didnt finish each one of them.
^^Exactly, I just get tired of everyone being up in arms when a championship fight doesnt end in devastating fashion. When two guys are at the very pinnacle of their sport, their skills tend to nullify each other and to an uneducated observer, look "boring". Perfect example, watch the NCAA wrestling finals. You rarely see a pin, and the majority of the matches are very low scoring. Does that mean those guys arent trying to go for a pin or light up the scoreboards? Absolutely not, its a combination of respecting your opponents capabilities(if your reckless, you will pay for it) and the countering abilities of each wrestler.
