Jon Anik is passing along his gambling addiction to his 12 year old daughter

He also has the flattest head i have ever seen.

If your dad gives you your first beer at 12 and is proud of you for drinking it, you think your dumbass is gonna suddenly figure out it’s bad for you the moment you turn 18?

Well when the father is a known degen gambler and has his kid doing it as well you can understand why people might find it more than a little off-putting.

In the Anik household, they don’t believe in Santa Claus…They believe in Gianni Claus. He brings boys and girls their very own Draft Kings accounts with $500 in free play to sprinkle around!

I absolutely hate that gambling in MMA has become mainstream

Considering the number of women with gambling addictions, this is a huge deal.

hopefully she’ll just be fucked off that she lost her fiver, work out her dad’s a maroon and tell him to do one.

In MMAs defense, gambling is a giant component in most sports.

We always get a bit more “grip” when we learn more about a fighter’s personal life. Like, the pregnancy one – with a proper segway; maybe not too personal. Especially if it’s something already out on socials and whatnot… But I can see how it could be awkwardly mentioned and sound a bit out of left field… The custody stuff, man, leave that off the air indeed. Maybe let it come out from the fighter in a post-fight chat, like - camp was hard, divorce/court/etc. But during a PPV? Man, that’s sorta rough…

fair play if that’s the real Brian Ebersole. extremely tough fighter and man who knows how to put on a show. i saw someone shaving arrows the other day; i thought they lacked awesomeness and were a decade late.

I know it is, and that’s one reason why I don’t like regular sports. Now gambling has become such a big thing in MMA it has its own show. Talking about odds is one thing but the gambling thing is annoying.

Yeah it is. I sometimes defend Anik but the custody thing is just weird and completely unnecessary. Especially during a fight. I think the context of it being during a fight changes everything. Like you said that’s something to bring up off the air or post fight. Or you know when they are just sitting at the desk bullshitting right after a PPV card. I don’t really need to hear about a fighter’s custody battle unless it comes directly from their mouth. The pregnancy one is too much but is somewhat understandable.

I just feel as though Anik wants to seem like he’s closer to fighters than he really is. I always get this impression that he wants people to feel like he’s part of the MMA “community”. I think I posted this in another thread. It is sort of weird to me but I guess it’s kind of normal to wanna fit in, especially when he doesn’t have that sort of background. I mean he’s a good commentator and knows a good deal about fighting at this point… he doesn’t need the weird comments.

Anik is a proper Jew. I don’t think they like any Clauses, unless it’s in some type of lawsuit.
