Lifting heavy doesn't necessarily put you at a high injury risk, especially under the tutelage of a knowledgeable strength coach.

On the contrary, heavy compound lifts strengthen your joints and could actually help prevent injury, especially if the truly heavy lifting (max effort) is done infrequently. Phone Post 3.0
