JabCore - I hate jones always have, DC was controlling the clinch and needed to throw more uppercuts in flurries then try and catch jones with a hook. Not sure what the fuck his corner was telling him since I was at a bar but the clinch game was working well and not sure why he strayed from that. I was really disappointed in DC giving up/gassing in the 4th. I had looked forward to this fight for so long and was so disappointed in both their performances, DC lacked heart and jones just seemed as if he was trying to not lose and try and humiliate DC when possible.
Jones coasted the last rd for sure. I have no idea how anyone scored the fifth for Jones.
I love DC and hate Jones but I gave Jones round 1 and 4 clearly, round 3 I swayed to Jones and round 5 was a nothing round the only clear round to DC was round 2..
As much as I wanted DC to win emotions aside it was a clear Jones victory.

Watch the 3rd again you can argue this rd for DC easily. Well you can call it for either of them or even a draw. The fifth was DC rd imo.
I thought it was even on rounds going into the 5th. But every second after the eye poke was dominated by Jones and I thought Cormier was winning up to that point. Pure adrenaline dump IMO.
I was 100% rooting for DC and I fucking hate Jones, but by the end it was clear who won. I think DC definitely won the 2nd, maybe the 1st as well, but by the 4th and 5th he was gassed and didn't seem to think that he had enough left in him. He never gave up, but he was a different man in those last two rounds.
I think DC will have a better shot in the rematch though, whenever we see that
If you turned off Rogans extremely biased commentary the fight was actually really close, and the stats for the first three rounds agree.
I had round 1 slight edge to cormier (strikes were about even but cormier had better octagon control and aggression). round two to cormier obviously. 3 was a toss up. 4 was a beatdown from jones. Five I was giving to Jones until the takedown but it was pretty uneventful otherwise.
In terms of round by round scoring I see what you mean. I don't think there's much of an argument for DC, he put up a dog fight, but JBJ was just too big and much more active. He rightfully won.
DC's output reallyyy dropped in the championship rounds, I thought he was in decent shape at the end of third, it seemed Jones was slowing down, but it turned out to be the opposite.
Coming out of this fight I think Cain would beat Jones. It would be a great fight, but Cain is just a storm that never ends.
DC will always put up a fight vs Jones, but I just think he'd have a tough time winning. Jones' leverage alone is just too much for DC too overcome.
I scored it 49-47 btw, w/ the fifth being a 10-10. Jones won 1, 3 & 4 imo.

I'll be sure to watch it again can't blame you for giving it that way, but on first watch I gave it slightly to Jones..
Close on the scoreing but definitely Jones the winner. I DO think that Cormier's rhythm was broken by Jone's defensive eyepoke. Rogan suggested that it was accidental and Ref seemed almost apologetic in 'warning' the champ. Bollocks to accidental!
What a shock that people obsessed with Jones losing think this was a close fight. I'm sure this is a totally objective viewpoint that has nothing to do with their ridiculous biases.
How did major MMA media score the fight? Fightmetric stats?
It was closer than the score indicated but it was a clear victory for Jones. Cormier really seemed to lose confidence after the takedowns and after Jones kept stuffing him.
