Jorge Masvidal draws Bobby Green for Strikeforce:

The latest fight added to the November 3rd Strikeforce card headlined by Daniel Cormier defending his title against Frank Mir, has excitement written all over it. Lightweight veteran Bobby Green (19-5-0) will get a nice step up in competition as he faces off with top contender Jorge Masvidal (23-7-0) in Oklahoma City.

Masvidal recently stated his grievance with Strikeforce's lack of activity on MMAJunkie Radio saying, "For the longest time, I've been trying to get four to five fights a year. It's just I keep signing with companies and I'm catching the ship as it's sinking. Bodog, then I went to Sengoku, then I was stuck with Bellator when at the time they didn't have the contract and now Strikeforce. As far as my fights a year, I'd love to fight five times a year, but it's just not happening."

Good fight.

Too bad it took Masvidal crying to the media for him to finally get a fight lined up though.

He just did an instudio interview with MMA Junkie two days before this fight was announced saying he hadn't been contacted about any upcoming Strikeforce cards.  Sad it takes shaming the promotion publically in order to get them to respond to you.

Strikeforce's next show is Sept. 29, and doesn't include Masvidal. After that, he's looking at Nov. 3 – but he hasn't been approached for it yet. He said if called soon, he could make 155 or his previous division, welterweight, in time for that show in Oklahoma City.

good for him, sucks that he had to complain to get a fight. Phone Post

this should be a good fight, two veterans, still young and hungry.

This wasn't the first time Jorge had to call Strikeforce out. He's done it several times before on Tapout radio. Strikeforce is constantly dropping the ball. Thought things would change with the Zuffa takeover but no.

Fair enough but that doesnt mean the fight wasnt being planned by SF and they just hadnt offered him the fight yet.

but the timing of the announcement and that interview does suggest either they were planning on making that fight and once he complained they quickly offered it to him or they had nothing for him and when he complained they quickly got him a fight.

UFC's problem = Too many events, not enough fighters.

Strikeforce's problem = Too many fighters, not enough events.

Gamebred/Green should be an entertaining fight. Looking forward to these next two SF shows.

Truth...but the LW division is a little slim.

Still wish Jorge was in the UFC along with Gil. Sigh... Phone Post

You and me both brother!

Masvidal is a true fighter. Hopefully he can scoop up the W and move onto the UFC.

SF is absolutely wasting Masvidal. Dude is never in a boring fight, has a fun, diverse skillset, has more personality than most guys, and yet can never get fights. So disgusting.
