I agree with the sentiment but health insurance is fucked for hard working people too. I’m in the steel workers union in Pennsylvania. 1035. My health insurance is awful. Money gets taken out of paycheck every week. 950 deductable and 70% coverage after that. Max out of pocket 6500. Idk maybe it’s not that bad but it’s extremely restricting. 150$ to go see doctor before my deductable. Had to pay about 2000 after my deductable for 2 cat scans last year. If I had a child it would put me at the max out of pocket. Each family member has there own deductable if I had kids. Any semi serious injury would cost me thousands. It’s better than some but I’d prefer to live in a world where medical expenses are comparable.

The only thing I entertain at all in anyway from Democrats is talk about health care change. I understand the concept of capitalism creating competition which drives up competitive quality but it’s not working. I get shit service and waiting times and a very high price.

If you’re a county cop or EMS here you can get top of the line blue cross and blue shield with a $500 deductible for $6 a month, but you won’t make a livable wage, especially in EMS.

All this talk about social democracy as socialism or communism is nonsense. Especially the healthcare argument. You pay taxes, you get benefits. Some pay more, others pay less, but benefits for all. Roads, schooling, etc. Health insurance should also be included. At least very reasonable healthcare for people who are working. Corporate health insurance is a racket as is corporate medicine. The discussion is far deeper than what I can post in a few lines, but the end point is that social democracy is not socialism and Masvidal is not someone who seems knowledgeable/educated enough to be providing advice to the general public. there’s too many regualations and requirements for capitalism to actually work in regards to healthcare. Be real, no company is going to want to insure a 300lbs type 2 diabetic that refuses to watch what they eat or exersice. It’s simply not worth it unless you can charge well more than they can afford in most cases. So we have we have a completely broken system.

Having good health care especially for hard working people/families would have a net benifit over time for us. People missing less work days or being able to be more productive would help our society.

My insurance before him was paid for by my company with free rx, 100 dollar er, 10 dollar copay for dr visit, lots of free shit and 500 deductible for extra shit.
Now if I want insurance its as much as my fucking rent with 3k deductible…per individual… and goodRX gives better prices than my fucking insurance does

I found a Dr that is much, much cheaper for cash and he refers me to other specialists who give major discounts for cash. For instance WITH insurance my appointment with a specialist was 400 to walk in the door AFTER the insurance. Thru my Dr cash network I pay 80 to 100 for a visit and any tests etc are also quite affordable.
I wind up paying literally thousands less to pay cash than if I had insurance per year.
I know I am sorta fucked if/when I get cancer and shit but no guys live past early 60s in my family anyhow so I only gotta make it another 10 or 15 years.
Got my wife a really nice life insurance hook up for when I kick it and that’s that. Rather have that fucking 10 grand a year for vacations than utter shit insurance.

They need to address the real issue, why is medical costs so high. It’s the same thing when talking about student debt, if you fix the lost of medical and education these problems go away. We focus on dealing with the result of the problem not the actual problem
People should be building their own roads too, otherwise we are just under the government thumb.
