At just 23, WEC champ José Aldo stands poised to reign atop MMA’s featherweight division (not to mention every pound-for-list on the planet) for years to come. But fighting wasn’t the 2009 FIGHT! Magazine Fighter of the Year’s first love. Once upon a time, the dirt-poor kid from Manaus, Brazil, had dreams of becoming the next Diego Maradona. This may have caused some problems with his fellow Brazilians, but it didn’t take long for the pint-size kid to get them to stop yapping. Im counting the days to see this guy move up and into the UFC. Thats where he belongs.

Imagine if this guy was in pride when it was arround? He would be decapitating people with head kicks to grounded opponents.

please.. he's fighitng midgets at the moment.. he'll get laid and prayed on @ 155lbs.

Love these Fight! videos.

Good stuff.

at 0:27, is that LayzieTheSavage?

awesome video, Aldo is fucking amazing

any news on his next fight? i personally think they should have Gamburyan and Grispi fight for the title shot, but if they use both as #1 contenders, i wouldnt be mad

The only person I see taking him down and laying on him like a wet blanket is Maynard at 55. But do you think Edgar can? I dont think edgar could match Aldos strength if he were to go to 55. Sprawl and brawl all day. Even if he does give up 1 or 2 take downs I dont think Edgar can hold him down long enough to make a defining difference in the outcome. And cardio wise, I honestly beleive he can match Edgars in that department.

He reminds me a lot of Marcelo Garcia.

Great video, thanks for posting

 Amazing video!

The other vid from the same sitting.

Aldo is so good he isn't even being pushed by world class competition.

He reminds me of a younger GSP. I wouldn't be surprised if in two years people are seriously talking about him as P4P best in the world.

For MMAxNate

jaseprobst, I agree wholeheartedly

BJ would a love a fight against jose's style!
