Josh Barnett Comments on TRT & Dos Santos vs. Reem

On TRT:
"I think it's kind of an all of none sort of thing. I don't know what somebody's testosterone was when they were 21, versus now that they're 41, so maybe when they were 21 it wasn't even as high as if they were on TRT at 41. I'm not against making a better human being, you know, people living longer, being healthier and so and so forth. I just think that it should be nobody or everybody, and it's kind of a weird grey area that just doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to me. I'm sure we would all love to have, even those of us that don't have hyperthyroid or gonadism or so and so forth to all have our test levels at the peak level that are allowable though any means,"

On Junior dos Santos vs. Overeem
"I think Junior is a fantastic boxer and he's got a lot of speed, he's got good reach and height, and he'll be able to touch Alistair, but if Alistair can put the pressure on him, change it up from his kicks to the knees to the punches and change those distances and those timings. The ground is wash. Alistair is superior. He's a big guy too so if dos Santos is under him it's gonna take a lot out of him. The kickboxing, that's where it's gonna be the difference. Alistair's gotta chop those legs, he's gotta step, throw those knees through, he's gotta time those shots and he can't let dos Santos pick away at him."

Good advice to Alistair. Dont really care what he has to say about steroids. He is the poster boy for it in MMA

I agree with him though on TRT. It should be available to no one or everybody. Phone Post

I thought the thread title was a joke, but someone actually asked the biggest cheat in the history of the sport about TRT?

JOSH BARNETT
Caught: 4/22/02, following his TKO victory over Randy Couture at UFC 36.
Tested positive for: Boldenone, Nandrolone, and Fluoxymesterone
Punishment: A six-month suspension from the NSAC and the loss of his UFC heavyweight title. Barnett fought the steroid charge, and didn't compete again in the U.S. until PRIDE 32, four and a half years later.
In his own words: "I am a fighter, not a lawyer. I am innocent, and I should be fighting right now."
Repeat offender: Barnett actually tested positive once before, for two different anabolic steroids, following his submission via strikes victory over Bobby Hoffman at UFC 34 in November 2001. Josh was let off with a warning (which went unheeded, apparently) and the incident was never officially reported -- but according to Sherdog's Mike Sloan, Barnett's first positive steroid test is what inspired Nevada to begin regularly testing UFC fighters for performance enhancing drugs.

Why not? He has as much if not more insight than people not in the sport.
