So the guy had two good showings in the UFC, lost to Yves via a crazy out-of-nowhere headkick, one decision loss to Guida in '06, and his last six fights were solid wins with finishes (including Bang) minus one decision win over Nam Phan. He is standing pretty good and would make a better addition to the UFC than strikeforce IMO.
The UFC lightweight div..could you imagine Penn/Thomson....Huerta/THomson...good fights.

Okay I'll agree the Penn Thomson would not be as good, however he has proved to be durable, and can avoid subs well, good wrestling, unusual striking style, Hell he introduced most UFC fans to superman punches. Too bad it got him KTFO'd once.
I don't know where he would hang with the likes of Edgar or Griffin, but to welcome him back how about Leonard Garcia or Nate Diaz.
I truly find the UFC LW division to be the most exciting MMA division out there, I could play fantasy matchup all day, but my mom will kick me off the interweb soon to do my homework.
For those who haven't seen, I think this would make an even better MMA match...

I have no fucking clue why Strikeforce hasn't set up Thomson/Masvidal. Foolishness!!
^^^that is an entertaining grappling match for sure.
But it shows that Thomson is not likely to get easily subbed he seems to hate being dragged down in a fight, like Guida did, but he is game. Masvidal is mean too!
