Cliffs?

thank god Lockhart has shut up

Kavanagh had most of the last half for a good hour or so? He didn’t say anything unreasonable throughout and was quite sporting about the whole incident and the fight and had some good funny comments about the Floyd fight (“What the hell am I doing here?” or something like that realizing they were fighting Floyd in boxing). He seems like an intelligent, articulate guy, not unlike other Irish guys I know. Its just too bad his camp is spearheaded by such a cunt.

I respect Kavanagh’s stance towards the shit that Connor says and does to an extent - he makes it clear that is not his way and he kinda stands out of the way and lets Connor sell the fight. Since he didn’t whine about the altercation after, I don’t really have a problem with that. I do think he shoulders some responsibility as the head of SBG to reign in some of that, esp the outside the cage incidents like in Bellator, the bus, the personal/political/religious mocking but I get the impression he feels its all fair game, what Connor said/does and what Khabib did after.

He did say the guys that attacked Connor should have reprecussions and I don’t think anyone disagrees HOWEVER…and he may not have seen this himself but we all know Conor threw the first punch in the ring at the guy in the black shirt when he was NOT confront Conor, merely climbing the fence at the same time.

So hopefully the NSAC when they review either withhold both fighter pay or none.

He also acknowledged Danis is a troll online, I dunno…at the end of the day, each man is his own man but a lot of SBG’s guys are pretty douche (Conor, Danis, Artem) so they toe that line and I think as the head of that camp, he could reign it in a little. I realize he may not want to say that publically at first and speak to his guys but I doubt that is gonna happen at this point.

Again, he didn’t have any hard feelings against Khabib either.

Conor is still a cunt for what he said and his band of little followers in Danis and Artem will get what’s coming to them. I mean, Artem already did, getting slapped up by Khabib.

Noted that Fedor was his fav fighter before.

Also acknowledged he has to deal with the ruckus when he goes back and deals with the Irish AC or whatever as he sits on a commission or board or something to lobby MMA in Ireland.

Notes that so many offers come Conor’s way that its hard to keep track, like it was floated that Conor and Floyd fight a boxing with leg kicks rules fight. As he has often commented on before, Conor, with a personality like his, will drive what where he wants to go and his camp will try to best support. Have to respect that to degrees.

Thanks for the recap, Wasa-B!

He also comments extensively on the training approaches and Rogan was professional but did not stray away from asking what they could have done better (against Khabib, Floyd, etc).

Regarding the wrestling, they just went with their usual Moldovan coach and some of his guys and that they aren’t the camp to bring in big name specialists just for the sake of it. It has to mesh chemistry wise. No shock there but im sure they could up a few obvious things in the future.

Mainly, he said he would like to focus more on the offense than defense which is VERY INTERESTING as Connor seemed to chase Khabib a bit too much to which Kavanagh even commented between rounds to not be as aggressive?

I think Conor would just need to up everything to beat Khabib, its still possible, COnor being the dangerous striker he is is still capable of taking anyone out with his left hand but he never got off on Khabib thru 4 rounds.

Commented on the right hand that got Connor, that its obviously not technically sound from a boxing standpoint but that it does not have to be to be effective in MMA, which we all can agree with.

Again, aside from not being aware or acknowledging Connor throwing the first punch at Khabib’s crew, he didn’t say anything unreasonable and it was a good listen.

Wasa b - thanks for the write up, appreciated.

Kavanagh is John Hackelman mk2.

Kavanagh is a cool dude

Why no lip ring?
