gangsta101 - Get over it, Machida won the first three rounds.

Coming from a guy who thinks Steve Austin would wreck the UFC.

Cecil Peoples would easily pass any MMA rules test, if that's what you're getting at.

Not MMA rules but rather positions, submissions, strikes, etc. The athletic commission should take a vote from various fighters, martial artists and instructors asking how difficult they would rate techniques, how effective, etc. The judges should then know the difference between subs, how hard they are to pull off, how close the fighter was to getting them, etc. Not just "takedowns beat everything" which seems to be the excuse lately; "He stole the round with the takedown."

Great point. How many undamaging rounds has Sherk won in his decision-laden career by pawing with those little T-rex arms and securing a few takedowns? Many.

For instance, I think is someone tries to takedown a BJJ Black Belt and does nothing but get put in danger of being subbed each time . . . it shouldn't be a positive thing that he took the BJJ black belt down.

well having a karate black belt judge a fight where one fighter is being hyped up as the next bruce lee is the first problem.

as long as cecil peoples remains a judge for MMA fights, the sport will never improve.
