nakamura's really good

on arte suave vol2 royler shows a really nice setup for this triangle to his
class.

Hikikomi - I often end up in the position you describe (North South on top with opponent on his side, opponents top arm in kimura grip then tied up with his own gi skirt) but only seem to be able to flatten him for the pin from there - great in judo but not bjj. 2 questions:

  • how do you secure the triangle by stepping over his bottom arm?

Usually, I find the opponents bottom arm is either trapped/hidden underneath him or has a grip on the tied up arm

  • what submissions do you use once his one arm is tied and the other trapped in the triangle?

I have a stocky build and find it difficult to finish a triangle from side control, I do use the triangle to secure him so I can finish with a straight armlock (like Renzo v Maurice Smith here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xe46MmMp6-0 ) but you must be doing something else if you are keeping the arm tied up for the submission.

Thanks in advance, Koga!

Triangle the Turtler TTT

I guess a kimura against the triangle trapped arm would be an option.
