Just bought a Fuji gi

I've heard they are very good gi's- especially for the price.

However, everyone that I know that wears them and put their gi's in the dryer, all recommend getting a full size up- as they shrink much more than other gi's.

ultra lite and light gis are cheaper.

Damn so should I have gotten an A4? Phone Post

I think the amount a Fuji shrinks is exaggerated. I dry mine every time I clean it, and I dyed it in boiling hot water and I've still haven't seen as much shrinkage as people online claim happens.

  Fraking shrinkage

my a2 fit perfect out of the bag. a3 full dryer is a little loose. good value either way.

We must be the same size , I dried my A3 for 6 hrs , first wash , and it only shrank a little , my A2 fits great , I hang dry it away from direct sunlight . Very nice gi's . I'll try shrink my A3 some more , my friend has an old one that is now smaller than my A2 .

what is your height weighjt? i am thinking of getting a4 fuji, I am 6'185

I've owned 2 Fuji gis, they shrink pretty good. I'm like 5'9" 185, A3 fit perfect at first, shrank like crazy without even putting it in the dryer. Second was an A4, which also shrank, and is still pretty baggy on me. First one ripped at the armpit and shoulder at the collar after about 2 years, second is starting to rip at the shoulder near the collar as well.

SpiderRicco - For the price there is no better gi. Dryer=kryptonite
Jw as to why? I put my Renzo Gi in the dryer on extra low and it does fine what would happen to the Fuji if I did this.

It will shrink.
Is this due to the tumble or bc of heat? <img src="/images/phone/apple.png" alt="Phone Post" border="0" style="vertical-align:middle;"/>

Because of the Tumble. I don't even roll very hard in mine because when I do it is always a size smller than when I started!

as long as you either play a top game or keep it in your guard, you'll be fine. it's really just the scramble that cause the shrinking.

I'm 68kg (150) and 1.65m (5.4') and I always wear an A2 . My black Fuji victory fits great , no dryer , but I also got a white A3 because I heard about the shrinkage , after a few wash & tumble dry's its still way too big , especially the pants .

An A3 that is smaller than your A2? That's hard to believe I've had my A3 always thrown in the dryer for over 2 years now. It's still a little big on me.

Yeah its crazy , it was a camo A3 , looked to be many years old , lots of wear but still ok , it fitted me tighter than my new A2 , when I saw that I decided to keep my A3 instead of selling it . Now I'm stuck with a gi thats too big .
