Just bought a new computer. Software to DL??

Like the title says. I just bought a new machine and I am looking for recommendations for software to add.

Anti virus recommendations, open office, chrome?

I think Retard did a thread like this a while ago but I can't find it now

I use AVG but people seem to prefer Microsoft Essentials for antivirus here.

Ccleaner is a great tool. Phone Post 3.0

CC Cleaner is a must

Open Office - is quality but updates are no longer available the same people behind it have a new free office program called "Libre Office

Win Rar - File extraction

http://filehippo.com/ has a ton of free essential programs you can pick out the best ones

I always update drivers. Install winrar. Install video codecs. Download vlc player. Put on my AVG, install an office of some sort. Next is bittorrent. And then it's straight to porn. Lots an lots of porn.

The rest I just download as needed from torrents.

No suggestions, but heard this is a decent way to grab a lot of stuff at once. May be helpful.

It's free, it's fast, and it catches more stuff than the spyware remover software you have to pay for.

It's even capable of catching and removing viruses.

It's a must IMO.

Please don't forget to change your email signature so that it signs "Mark" at the bottom of each email.

I haven't used Open Office in quite some time, but I used to have issues sometimes with things changing when I'd convert them from or to Microsoft Office

Don't download some stupid anti-virus bullshit. Use windows defender and don't download stupid stuff. You'll be fine.

I think that's the thread you want?

I just ttt'd it

LibreOffice is better than OpenOffice
Avira Free Antivirus
Foxit Reader (for pdf)
Mozilla Firefox

- SuperAntiSpyware

- MalwareBytes

That (free) trio has not failed me in years.

7-zip instead of winrar

quicktime alternative

foxit reader instead of adobe

microsoft security essentials or windows defender

ublock add-on for firefox
