Whenever you build anything in your settlment, sleep in your bed. You'll get the well rested perk that will give you bonus Xp so anytime you build something it will give you more xp

Figured I would catch some heat asking about glitches. But I like exploring the world. I still enjoy it that way. Lol.
A major part of the game is crafting crap, so adhesive, aluminium and oil are like gold.
You can drop stuff on the ground and command your companion to pick it up no matter how much they are carrying. This is super helpful take everything and sell it for caps
Also find the crashed ufo.

I always max out my strength then do all the perks to increase carry weight ASAP, then I pick up everything. After a while steel and wood are pretty much limitless so you can sell or drop that junk, like I said I take everything so basically I do runs like a mission then go back and dump all junk and sell everything else I don't need. That's probably basic strategy but I've never really talked to anyone about fallout lol. There is one glitch I found that May not work unless you have the original version without any updates as I haven't updated the game yet, but it's wayyyy at the end, for those that side with the institute, when your attacking the BOS main place after you kill everyone if you don't Finnish the mission you can walk around the place and certain guys will regenerate whatever you lofted from them and you can basically endlessly get stuff (lots of power armor pieces ammo and fusion cores). Doing that made me board with the game though honestly lol.
first thing i would do is figure out how to get rid of the dog and get a real companion.
