"I know for a fact that his foot got injured (lacerated from teeth)" It was in his foot.
king@queens - this asshole blinded yuki nakai. yuki is such a tough bastard he submitted him with a leg lock and went on to fight rickson in the finals.
dude fucking thumbed the cornea (the transparent front of the eye) out of yuki's eye.
motherfucker straight up.
I'll grant that biting and eye gouging are dirty pool and Gordeau doesn't deserve to fight in a ring. But I'm a little tired of people ragging on fighters who hit the back of the head, attack the groin, throat etc when they can get away with it. It's a fight fellaz, unarmed hand to hand combat. It's not the fricking ballet. Who would you rather have with you in the warrens of Fallujah or the casbah of Nablus looking for bomb factories - some genteel sportsman who depends on the rules to protect him or a savage ruthless fighter who takes the enemy out as soon as possible and by any means necessary?
Diesel67, this ain't fucking Falljuah. It was a sport fight fought by professional fighters who earn thier money in the entertainment. Blinding Yuki = unforgivable.
If you want to argue the whole no rules, anything goes bullshit step outside. Specifically outside this forum. And head your ass down to Fallujah.
Gerard was a scumbag. I certainly wouldn't shed a tear hearing about him getting shanked in the neck by a gang outside some bar while trying to go mano-a-mano.
fightnow - LET ME HELP YOU GUYS OUT RE: GORDEAU -->
Gerard was a tough mofo. Here are some facts:
--Top Kyokushin fighter for a long time.
--Beat Savate HW champ in Savate rules.
--Had many street fights in Holland.
--Beat Satake in Seido match. Although Satake didn't transition well to K-1 or MMA, he was damn good at full contact karate, and Gerard beat him when Satake was in his Karate prime.
--Fought out of Vos gym along with Ernesto Hoost.
He was a very legit stand up fighter.
I would not say he was a top kyokushin fighter, he was good but not a serious contender for a world championship. After leaving kyokushin he did a lot of kickboxing and even Wrestling works. He is now back with kyokushin again, although in his own organization.
He also competed in a early k-1 in 1993, but lost.
All in all, he was very legit standup, but also known as a very dirty fighter.
BTW. in UFC1 he didnt know he was supposed to fight until a few hours before hand. He was there as a reserve fighter but had been told days before that he would not be needed, and had bussied himself working back stage.
king@queens - dude fucking thumbed the cornea (the transparent front of the eye) out of yuki's eye.
Gordeau is definitely an asshole, but the above is false. He DID gouge Nakai, but it only caused a scratch on the eyeball - he definitely didn't "thumb the cornea out" or anything like that.
Nakai lost his eye because he didn't get the infection looked at quickly enough and had to be talked into seeing a doctor, and by then it was too late.
Beat me to it Mike..
Thats exactly right. Nakai didn't bother going to see the Doctor after it got infectved. Nakai has said himself that it was his own fault.
.
That late knee couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
But he is a badass, fouls or not. Dude is ruthless.
he was very very bad, but it a good way.
I find myself asking this question every day.
Just how Good Is Gerard Gordeau?
That lad can thumb one's eye like nobodies business, Charles Liddell hasn't a thing on the chap.
The Baron.
Gordeau/Rosier looked like like a high school bully beating up the fat nerd in school.
crowbar -Crazy Zimmerman -
I think he fucked up his hand on Tuli's noggin.
I know for a fact that his foot got injured (lacerated from teeth) He also injured his hand, but I`m not sure if it was broke, fractured or just sore.
According to "Brawl" he still had Tuila's tooth stuck in his foot for the remaining fights.
The question is, how good was his young apprentice, Remmmmko Pardue? Actually I just hijacked this thread.

This will never stop being awesome

I started this thread as a knock on another thread. There is no way you can hijack it.
Captain Insano X -iclimb513 - The story goes, that he also attempted to eye gouge Royce. At some point therafter Rickson and company went to pay him a visit at his hotel, but he'd left in a hurry before that.
Take with grain of salt, this tale handed down the chain.
He also corners one of Rickson's opponents in CHOKE.
As well as participating in the tournament. He was the first or second fighther that Yuki defeats (by heelhook or kneebar, I think)
"But he is a badass, fouls or not. Dude is ruthless."
Agreed. Guys like him are just natural fighters. You can tell it's in his blood.
Whereas someone like GSP is more of a great athlete, imo.
