Just tried mario sperry's Twister

and I can say that I find it more effective then Bravo's twister and easier to apply from the side control plus you dont need your hands to do it.
Have you ever seen this done in MMA or training Ive never seen this version of the twister before.
The Sperry twister can be found on tape 3 crossbody vale tudo 1.
I also want to know have any of you used this in training.

Totally forgot about it.  I think I hit it a couple times when I first saw the video but never tried it again. I totally forgot it by now actually.  I like Eddie's side control set up a lot and was using that pretty effectively.

I've never seen sperry's twister. How does he set it up?

cool! you did that move that is awesome did your opponnent tap quick and can you do a reverse keylock on the guys arm at the same time.

I like Bravo's twister to but I have only been doing this for about a month and a week so I cant pull his off yet but this Sperry Twister is so easy to do It's worth the attempt.

There's no training today so I'll have to try this move while rolling tommorow.
I would like to thank everyone for recommending those tapes I got Sperry 1,2,3 for about $400 dollars off ebay
but it was worth it to get the head start so I dont have to bother people with questions in class.

In class I like to shut up and roll.

Here's the set up you have a reverse scarfhold your leg is blocking his hip to prevent guard getting ready to mount.

He is blocking your mount with his foot on his knee Jens style.

all you do is mount his far leg and triangle your legs together you should still have his far arm wrapped like a reverse keylock.

Now that is your no hands Twister.

sorry, i'm having trouble visualizing this...

how dan you mount his far leg if his near one is blocking you?

do you mount it from underneath his blocking leg?

also by "reverse keylock" do you just mean kimura?

thanks

I'm on the same boat as PablosNewton. Can you re-phrase that Spider....

i forgot the details of the entire move, but here's what i remember. Say you are on your opponent's right side.

You're in a REVERSE scarfhold position and he is defending the mount by having his right leg block your attempt. With your right hand lift up on his right ankle and QUICKLY shoot your right leg in and triangle your legs together. I forget the details from here. But I remember you stretch him out by stabilizing his upper body making sure his shoulder doesn't leave the mat and twisting his lower body away.

I hope this makes sense.

I found a easier way to do this twister,You can weave your hand through his legs to block any knees he might do
with his far leg.

Your still in reverse scarf and you can be working the grip at the same time.

With your weaved arm you can feed his far leg to your legs so you can triangle his leg.

I have found the weave is easier to use because the opponnents are always trying to shrimp or go to there knees.

I cant believe not to many people no this move and have not tried it.
It says these tapes are very old like over 5 years do people not listen to what the champions are teaching them. I mean this is the coach of Brazilian top team voted having the most MMA wins over any team found this on a sight called sherdog.

More details please. I still dont understand the leg positioning. And once u triangle your legs how do you get to his back from reverse scarfhold?

bravo's method is more pleasing to the eye.
Also, like eddie said several times alot of wrestlers know setups for the guillotine as well.
Personally, I use the setup from s.control were you hook the opposite leg like e.bravo does and pull the guy on top of you. (eddie does this alot also).

Which tape did Sperry show this move?

There is supposed to be a Rigan Machado twister too.  I had it applied on me once but I don't recall the details.

tony desouza is also very good at the twister and has a more wrestling based setup .

take a look at tony's fight at mecca.

Which volume of which Sperry set is this material on?

READ the first post again, he states where you can find the move.

"The Sperry twister can be found on tape 3 crossbody vale tudo 1."

My bad...thanks!

re-read the first post....sorry.

any other fights where u can see this in action?
