I think Glover's submission game is being criminally overlooked in this fight.
We have seen Vitor come close to subbing Jones.
I feel if Glover can grab an arm or leg, with his power, he could damn well wrench the appendage off.
If Glover had Gus' chin, then I'd feel a bit more optimistic about his chances tomorrow night.
DoomFarmer - I think Glover's submission game is being criminally overlooked in this fight. This is a good point I'm surprised no ones mentioned yet

Imagine glover catching jones in a leg sub, you know, with jones"a twig legs and all.
FEDORallDAY - How anybody thinks this guy even stands a chance against Jones is beyond my comprehension. What am I missing? I know he hasnt lost in forever etc and sure, he might have a punchers chance the same way Hendo or any other heavy hitter would, but he's slow, technically shaky in most aspects and chinny as fuck. You have guys like Dana and Chuck talking him up,but you just know it's really only because he trained with Chuck all his career and they're good friends. Don't see this going any other way other than Jones 1st round KO
Well, you're missing the cup of Acai Kool-Aid. Clearly you haven't spent most of your life wishing you were Brazilian, practicing a fake accent, holding stocks in Okra, and have a GJJ backpiece.
If you did these things like 80% of this site, you'd want the balls of every Brazilian in the UFC in your mouth and draped across your eyes.
Be glad you are one of the normal ones.
DoomFarmer -Defensive? For what?ABE FROMAN -DoomFarmer -Dead President -VitorpeepeetasteStrongTRT -Same here. I hate MMA math but Glover didn't even do all that well with a "washed up" Rampage.Rtchamp15 -Same.DoomFarmer - He has KO power in either hand, good wrestling, devestating ground and pound and a dangerous submission game. He has more than a punchers chance.I'm rooting for glover and I still don't think he has a shot.
He has also demonstrated good recovery as evidenced by his ability to absorb punishment and then promptly KO opponents afterward.
Basically, depending on what side you root for, you see what you choose to see.
How long has it been since you watched that fight?
Because he dominated Rampage for the entirity of 3 rounds.
Dropped him with strikes. Dropped heavy punches on him from mount etc.
Not sure what else he could have done short of finishing him that would have made it look more impressive than it did.
Rampage isn't the easiest guy to put away. Other than Jones, the last guy to finish Quinton was a roided out Shogun with Pride rules.
...and Wand X2 and Sakuraba.
Yeah, you are correct. I didn't say Jones and Shogun were the ONLY people to do it but you knew that didn't you?
Glover has KO power, thats all he has going or him in this fight..every other area goes to Jones..Jones will eat him alive fro the outside, Glover wil never get close to land his power punches..
Gus v Manuwa and Jones v Glover were designed simply to be gap fills before a rematch

You hurt my fucking feelings the way you always do when Jones fights
As much as I enjoy watching Glover fight, I honestly don't think he has a chance at beating Jones.
Obviously Dana and Chuck are going to push they believe Glover's Jones best opponent since they're UFC employees and they need to promote the fight. It would pointless for them to say Glover doesn't hold a chance against Jones since it would be a smart way to promote the fight.

That's ok, he will prove you wrong too.
Subd for accuracy. Jones is getting in the cage with a fighter. Not a wrestler who learned to box, etc. Glover by submission.
Its going to be similar to the Jones-Rampage fight
Sub for bump when Jones is KOed by a counter overhand right.
Im a glover fan but I dont think hes got much to offer jones. The thing is....jones was exposed as being human in that last fight....will that play on his mind? If it doesnt it should be over quick. I think they are trying to make it meaningful so that the rematch with gus gets more hype.

no one gives bader any props
Pitbull3744 - Styles make fights and you never know if Glover is a stylistic nightmare for Jones.
We will all find out tomorrow
we can tell from watching Glovers fights that he will not be a stylistic nightmare for Jones..for a guy to be a problem for Jones he will have to be fast, move in and out with punches, have great cardio and a great chin..he will also have to have pretty top notch wrestling..Glover fails in most of these areas imo..im hoping Glover puts up a challenge but i dont even see that happening..
"you just know it's really only because he trained with Chuck all his career and they're good friends"

What other LHW hasn't lost in 20 fights? Or 5 for that matter.
hackett -
I tried to get through Rampage/Teixeira. Rampage had nothing left and Glover's movement is... glacial.
Teixeira is getting better odds than Gustafsson but actually doesn't present any of AG's match-up problems. It's just a matter of Jones losing some lustre in his last appearance.
Glover pretty much has a puncher's chance. But then, we just saw one of the best Muay Thai guys in the UFC get knocked senseless by a jab...
"It's just a matter of Jones losing some lustre in his last appearance."
This is exactly it. Jones arguably lost his last fight, and took a beating. Glover on the other hand, is coming off a first round stoppage.
I think Glover poses a legit challenge to Jones especially considering Jones' last performance. If Jones had a better performance against Gus I would probably feel otherwise.
Headspace and confidence is everything in this sport, and I'm not sure where Jones is right now. That makes me feel that Glover is more of a threat than ever to Jones.
DoomFarmer - He has KO power in either hand, good wrestling, devestating ground and pound and a dangerous submission game. He has more than a punchers chance.Ko power in either hand? Who has he 1-punch KOd?
