My god what happened to this guy. I'm a huge GSP fan but fuck. That look on his face as he demolishes Jay on the feat. Spine chilling.
serra happened to him
Dude GSP will still KO Hieron. The only thing that has changed is gsp's level of competition.
Now do you see what we've been complaining about?
Doctor NPD -Wicked smahtMF -Swayze Express - Dude GSP will still KO Hieron. The only thing that has changed is gsp's level of competition.
are you guys delusional or what? wtf is wrong with you dude. either ur lying to yourself or dumb... which is it? A LOT has changed about Georges game/ delivery. hes a shadow of his former self hiding behind the TD at the first sign of danger. he used to be nonstop kill-mode. it would be surprising if he went to dec back then. guys looked like they wanted to cry when he was done with them. in his last two fights, in which he won, he was the one that looked to be on the verge of tears/ mental breakdown. the level of competition thing is BS. He wasnt as good and as gotten better right along with them. its all relative
It's pretty impressive, then, that he's outclassing the best of the best each time he defends the belt and he's a "shadow of his former self." Cause, you know, you wouldn't want to fight smarter and more reserved as a champ than you did when you were trying to push for a title shot. That would just be downright logical!
I don't agree with him being a "shadow of his former self", but you're statement is false simply because he was defending his belt against Serra and didn't even fake a shot. How long did GSP stand with Serra in their 2nd fight? How about the Dan Hardy fight? 25 minutes of wrestling and Hardy's face showed it after the fight.
You can't have been watching MMA long if you never saw GSP Hieron before
FrankenBeans -serra happened to him
So sick of retards saying this, he was balls out exciting after Serra.
He went from riddum
To explosive GnP after Serra,
To safe, cautious and technical after BJ Penn.
BJ Penn happened to him, or whatever the fuck went on in his life to change his style around that time happened to him, but up until the BJ fight, all his fights were balla. Even the Alves fight where he fucked his groin up, he was managing exciting as GnP and good striking
But ya, as much as I still enjoy his fights, they're nowhere near as exciting as they used to be.
He was hungry as fuck growing up
The money happened to him, that's what..
Swayze Express - Dude GSP will still KO Hieron. The only thing that has changed is gsp's level of competition. This is such a lame and over played excuse. What about Anderson's competition? What about jon jones competition? Enough with that already.
"he's outclassing the best of the best each time he defends the belt"
Ww is soo overrated its not funny... Hardy=best of the best? Get out of here.

Greasegate? I do remember that Sherk, Hughes, and Mayhem said that GSP greased for their fights. Once the commission was watching, his style changed
....
IMO common sense says that because he was new in the UFC and hungry for the title, he had more motivation.
Now that he's defended the title several times, along with making millions of dollars, it's not hard to understand how he's losing interest. Competition is slowly starting to catch up with him and he's constantly fighting guys who have that same hunger he once had.
But people who say he changed for the worst once he lost to Serra are wrong. Watch his fight with Fitch, 3rd fight against Hughes, or the rematches with Serra and Penn to see the same killer. But yeah, he didn't look his best against Diaz, even though he did dominate him. He actually got tired in that fight, something we've never seen before. The Shields fight was also a disappointment, but hardly something anyone can really complain about, considering no one was beating Shields at the time let alone finishing him. I enjoyed his fights with Koscheck and Hardy, despite people trying to convince people they were boring.

And what do all those guy have in common? Being butthurt because they were manhandled. Sherk didn't even get to lay a hand on GSP to accuse him of greasing lol.
Hughes just basically jumped on the bandwagon during the whole greasegate fuss, and if you thought for a second that he wasn't just saying that for an excuse then you're just stupid.
Buck is correct.
I would also add that the level of competition in the WW division is greater than any other weight class in the UFC. GSP was going through the murder's row beside Hardy. Silva's last fight was against Bonnar. Jones is fighting Chael.

About that level of competition, GSP decisioned all of these guys...
-Jon Fitch (later finished by Johny Hendricks in 7 seconds)
-Thiago Alves (finished by Jon Fitch [!] and later Martin Kampmann)
-Dan Hardy (later finished by Carlos Condit and Chris Lytle)
-Josh Koscheck (finished by Paulo Thiago and Robbie Lawler)
-Jake Shields (finished by Jake Ellenberger in 53 seconds)
LOL!
For instance, Fitch had a 16 fight win streak before facing GSP and a 5 fight win streak after. But but but...if a fighter fights long enough, he will lose.

lol @ you trying so hard to convince someone that GSPs competition is anything less than stellar. Yeah, GSP sucks because he decisioned a bunch of top lever fighters, who were once finished by other top level fighters. Never mind the fact that most of those cases happen AFTER they lose to GSP. Do you not see the pattern there? later finished by etc etc etc
GSP fights guys at the top of their game. Guys who go on these huge win streaks and are fighting for the title in the biggest fight of their lives. Then, when they get beat by GSP, it's obviously devastating for them. They suffer the 1st loss in a long time, then they go from fighting the biggest fight in their career to fighting just another guy. Obviously they aren't going to be as motivated, or in the same state they were when they fought GSP. It happened to every one of those guys. Fitch, Hardy, Alves, Koscheck, Shields....
Ah, I knew the ol' "GSP took their soul" excuse was coming. Look, if Jake Ellenberger or Paulo Thiago finishes you in devestating fashion, there is no excuse for GSP not finishing any of these guys. In each fight he fought in a way that made sure he didn't finish them.
