Sorry, all i know is buakaw won and Shane Campbell won and that was due to FB updates from the k-1 FB page. Gonna check around. Used to be plenty of people posting updates on k-1 events back in the days. :(

Apparently only two quarterfinal bouts took place tonight and the 2 i mentioned were the winners of those bouts. Next 2 happen on the 11th and then the semi's and final happen some event after that. Lol

Who was on this card? Many say Buakaw is past his prime and has been fighting sub par comp the last few years. I kind of agree about the comp but I think he still could destroy anyone on any given night. We all know about his crazy hassles and life and I'm sure that contributed to a lot.
I'd like a video if anyone has one. Is this a K1 MAX tournament, or just a card itself? I wonder who "K1" even is now, who is running the show etc. Hopefully they are at least paying people. I assume it's like the Greece card they did last year - Zambidis and his people basically rented the K1 name to put the card on. They covered all expenses, booked the arena, fighters etc. I believe the same thing happened in Croatia for the GP Mirko won.
So I wonder who is behind the scenes on this one. It was barely promoted and I doubt more than 20 people on this foroum knew it was happening. Even I barely did and I consider myself one of the bigger kickboxing/MT fans on here. I knew it was happening and only knew maybe 2 other guys on the card other than Buakaw, didn't even hear about who filled out the rest.
Such a shame... But, GLORY is here to stay and taking over in the US. A new day is upon us
The card was marketed as Thailand vs China, it was K-1s first event on HunanTV, China's biggest TV station, the ratings for this show will eclipse anything the UFC will get in China. China is now K-1's base, like Japan was in the past. They completely restructured the company and are looking to build them selves back up, moving away from tournaments and trying to crown champions in different weight classes.
That said this event was a complete mess, they listed the wrong start time online, so most people missed most of the show and there were all sorts of mishaps.
As for the fights, Campbell and Buakaw move on to the semis alongside the winners of the other 2 quarter finals from the Spain card next month.
The guy Buakaw fought is Zhou Zhi Peng, he is very good, has a spoiling pressure style. Also the talk of Buakaw being past his prime and fighting sub par competion is most definitely not the case, it was only when he was stuck with Thai Fight he was fighting overmatched competition.
His last 2 fights before today he beat Kehl and Sato, both of these were very good wins, especially the Kehl win, where Buakaw looked as good as ever. It is just like everyone saying Souwer isnt shit anymore, jsut because he isnt in Glory, despite the fact he beat Glory's champion, this time last year. Buakaw would walk in to the top 3 at Glory tomorrow imo id pick him over Ristie but I think Petro, if he comes back properly is still a toss up.
The other big fight on the card was Saenchai's debut for K-1, the bad part is he lost, I am not sure how as I missed it due to the stupid start time debacle.
