I read in a few places that Ken Shamrock wrestled all throughout college and even tried out for the Olympics in '88. Does anyone know which college he wrestled at and whether or not he ever became an All-American or did well in any of the prestigious tournaments?

i believe shamrock played football in junior college. he claimed to have wrestled in the olympic trials, but i don't believe there is any record of him doing so. he may have been in a regional qualifier for the trials and his book may have confused this tournament with the actual trials...... 2004s version of which is coming up in just two short weeks.

Far as I understand, Shamrock didn't really take his college wrestling career too seriously...and essentially blew it off for professional wrestling. I'm pretty sure his pro-wrestling experience with Buzz Sawyer and Dean Malenko occured around the same time that he was in college...and that he focused on the latter more than the former.
