On November UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy, heard that Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, coming off a loss to Ovince St. Preux, might drop a division. Kennedy tweeted bluntly.

Tim Kennedy @TimKennedyMMA Somebody tell Shogun that it is a VERY bad idea to move down to 185. It is a total shark tank down here and we will all eat him up.
Now Ariel Helwani is reporting on UFC tonight that Kennedy, 35, has surgery scheduled in the next week or two for a partially torn meniscus in the right knee. Further, Kennedy offered cryptic remarks about when he would return.
"I'm not sure," said Kennedy. "But that has nothing to do with my knee."
Kennedy was asked if he planned to retire or take a break, and again answered ambiguously.
Not like I'm a huge fan or something but Kennedy has an entire other career if he wants to stop fighting. He could absolutely not fight again and still do just fine (as opposed to some guys whose lives seem to fall apart if they don't fight)
let me guess "everyone is on PEDs! and i'm not coming back until it gets cleaned up!!!" lol see ya no one is a gonna be bummed that you're not fighting. and the fact some of these fighters think steroids is the reason their losing is laughable.
Pitbull3744 - Would be a shame if he retired because of what happened in the Yoel fight.
Stupid reason to walk away.
It wouldn't be stupid, but it would be a shame.
He deserves better.
he lost
So fighters should all quit if they lose a fight? Did you quit your job just because you overcooked that bag of fries? No. And Tim shouldn't quit either.

thats not what i said you idiot. he said it wouldnt be stupid if he left it would be a shame and i said he lost. because for some reason he thinks he got robbed
Pfft don't worry guys, no way he retires after that mess of a fight. I just don't see it happening. He's probably just a little bummed, but he'll get it together.
Why would a loss to Yoel mean retirement? I doubt he will have to start from the very bottom of the division again, it was a close competitive fight. For a couple minutes anyway.
He thinks he got robbed. Others do too. If he wasn't robbed, it was at least controversial.
He deserves to go out with a win or a decisive loss. He's earned that imo.
It was a decisive loss. The ref didn't stop the fight. Then Tim got knocked out. That's pretty decisive whether anyone likes how it happened or not. The only people butthurt about that fight seem to always ignore the way Tim uppercutted Romero into next year as he illegally held his glove. Which wouldn't be a big deal if he didn't continuously whine about Romero and the whole PEDs issue
I am a Tim Kennedy fan and I am a massive fan of the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast, so please don't think that I am a big PC pussy. I'm not...
That said, can you guys please stop showing Tim Kennedy staring at that knife. I know he is a military guy, but this is a MMA site and I don't want to think about him shoving a knife into someone when I just want to read about MMA, because he probably did at some point. That makes it kinda creepy....
