 UFC 106 - Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida could go down in Las Vegas



Former UFC lightweight number one contender, Kenny Florian could be about to get his wish and step into the octagon again before the end of the year when he squares off with Clay Guida at UFC 106 in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 21st.

According to a Twitter post by Michael David Smith, a reporter for MMAFanHouse.com, the fight is in the works, meaning possible bout agreements could be issued in the coming days for the fight.


Both men are coming off disappointing defeats in recent months with Florian losing to 155 pound champion, B.J. Penn at UFC 101 while Guida dropped a decision to Diego Sanchez in June at the TUF 9 finale.


As coincidence would have it, Penn and Sanchez will now square off against each other just one week before Florian meets Guida.

Florian is going to be trapped under Guida for 3 rounds, imo.

Maybe if he spazzes out and elbows the bejesus out of the back of Guida's head he can win. But he ain't KO'ing Guida and he can't run for 15 minutes.

Kenny in a quick laugher ala what he did to Stevenson. This indicates to me the UFC wants Kenny right back in there with Penn for another title shot.

I would doubt Scott Cocker(yes, I know its spelled wrong) would see a fight request one day and be working to get the deal done the next day.

Maynard is fighting Huerta at Fight Night 19 Sept. 16.

and yeah I think Edgar/Florian would be a better fight than Guida too.
