Trying to mature a bit beyond BJJ/Judo/running. I've never been a weight lifter and don't really have access to a weight gym because my funds go to ^^. Planning on running to the store and getting a 25-35 pound kettle bell and see if that gets me anywhere.
My question to my UG bretheren is what are the Dos/Don'ts/your recommendations? I heard on a JRE podcast a while back about a particular routine that he spoke very highly of but can't remember the name of it or which episode it was.
So yeah, TME. I am 100% noobie. Thanks homies.
Buy a 35 bell. Learn the swing before you learn anything else. Hinge hips, dont fold forward, and squeeze your ass. Good luck.

Was leaning towards getting a 35. Thanks brotha
Oh and that dvd is called The Extreme Kettlebell Cardio Workout. Id recommend it, but only after learning the basics. Swing, clean/press, and the snatch. Theres basically no instruction in the dvd on how to do things, he just kicks your ass from the get go.
Watch youtube videos on form checks with the swing before you even get started.
Keith webbers extreme kettlebell cardio workout is the DVD Joe always talks about its for sale on onnit.com if you want to get it.
Thank you both. Already VU moombah ill get you tomorrow pierre
Steve Cotter does some of the best instructional snout there.
Pavel too. He's a monster. Like my friends above say, learn the basics, swings (1/2handed) snatch, clean, press! SOTs press also. Doesn't have to be a heavy Kettlebell. A 16kg Kettlebell doing a swing is around 75kg of inertia (approx for me) That's a lot!
Good luck please keep us all posted sir.

Thank you all very much for your input. It is very much appreciated :)
Stopped by Dick's and a 35 pounder was $65... going to look elsewhere to compare, dont know much about price ranges but was hoping I could do better than that

I've purchased all kinds of Kettlebells over last 20yrs sir, from crap to competition kettlebells. Competition kettlebells are by far the best ive handled. yes they are more expensive, durability, feel and the mechanical principles alone for me are worth the extra.
Good luck!
In for later
