We all sin and God came down in the flesh to pay for our sin. We can’t pay for it by being a good person anymore than if you go to a human court and say to the judge " I am sorry…I apologize… I robbed the bank and shot the guard". …"but that was a long time ago and now I feed the hungry and donate money to charities. " . The judge will say, of course you should be sorry but that does not get you off. You will still go to prison or the electric chair and pay for your crimes.
