Japanese tabloid Tokyo Sports reported that Kimbo Slice will be making appearance at Dec 6 K-1 show in Yokohama Japan to say hi to Japanese fans, K-1 Event Producer Tanigawa confirmed. His K-1 debut match will be in March, vs. current K-1 heavyweight champ, Badr Hari.
K-1 is basically kickboxing without elbow and muay thai clinch. Good for Kimbo not have to worry about ground game.
In Japan, Fuji TV (one of major network TV) covers major K-1 events, including Dec 6 show, on prime time. I believe US fans can also see K-1 on HDNet, starting this show.
well the difference there is that Sapp actually had something going for him in that he's 6'4, and 365 pounds of steroids at the time... 125 pounds heavier than Hoost.. a true monster (even though Crocop made him cry like a baby)
Props for Kimbo taking the fight & more people seeing a very talented Hari.
K-1 must be hurting to put on on this Christians vs. The Lions match. This is like me trying to grapple Comprido. Kimbo is street fighter but Badr is a proper Kickboxer at the top of his game. MMA is a better fit for Kimbo not K-1.
K-1 will try to hype Badr's bad boy image vs Kimbo's street cred. Typical K-1 crap. Miss the good ole days of K-1!
If this isn't bullshit then you have to respect Kimbo for doing this,I'm not a huge fan of Hari but he is an extremely talented kickboxer and there aren't very many MMA fighters that would take this fight.I think Rutten can prepare him very well for this.
