Thompson has a good shot at beating his ass, but I suspect it will be scripted
brigham is wise
" I swear to God, unless Kimbo fights Fedor or Nog, people are going to bitch about who he's fighting.
It's the dude's 3rd fight. James Thompson is a very good opponent for someone who is on their 3rd fucking fight."
I think the contrast with Lesnar has struck people. Lesnar is estimated to have drawn 250,000 extra buys for that show, more than Kimbo has ever dreamed of for 10 ppvs, and they throw him in with a champ.
Crooklyns Hubby -brett rogers would put kimbo to his grave,
thats why hes not fighting him... yet.
I can't argue with that. Brett would beat his ass.

I wouldn't totally agree with that. Elite's highest rating on Showtime was Frank vs. Renzo with 325,000 viewers on Showtime.
With Kimbo on the card, they got 530,000 viewers. So, obviously, he brought in a significant amount of viewers, not to mention, they set an attendance and gate record for the arena they were in (I forgot what the arena was called, I think it was the United Bank arena in Florida).
Also, comparing what the UFC did with Brock and what Elite is doing with Kimbo makes a great case for me. Elite is doing the smart thing with building him up. UFC threw a future star to the wolves and he got beat, taking most the luster off his debut.
Not very smart from a marketing stand point, IMO. They were hoping that Brock would beat Frank because they would have an instant contender. Yet, it went the other way around, Frank beating Brock does virtually nothing for Frank and now, their heavyweight division is back to where it was a couple years ago - Absolute shit aside from a few guys.
Also, stop with the "work" talk. No promotion with this much going for them would even risk it by working a fight. There is absolutely no way. It would ruin everything they have built to get. Trust me, there is absolutely no way they would even run the risk by working a fight.
Why are people so eager to see Kimbo in there with someone tough and get beaten?
When Houston Alexander got beat noone would shut about bad match-making.
'Crooklyns Hubby' please read 'Brigham's' posts.....NICE & SLOW!!
ttt
Good step up for Kimbo IMO.
"bmas05 - Germans bombed Pearl Harbor!"
incorrect. it was the jews!
KriegerVonGott -bmas05 - Germans bombed Pearl Harbor!
That's weird...You said that in a way, as if trying to suggest that this information was very well known, but the information you said yourself, was total BS!
YAAAAAAAY.
HAHAHAHAHA!
This thread is entertaining in many different ways. Kinda like going to the circus.

Don't waste your time explaining pal. Most of the guys in here are just haters. They can't grasp the fact the Kimbo's popularity is far beyond his skill set, hence them always wanting to see him fight a Top 10 guy when he isn't even skilled to yet. Kimbo's popularity has risen far beyond the level of his training, and that is not his fault. He has great management, and is very marketable. Props to Kimbo!
Kimbo vs Cro Cop is the most interesting fight IMO.
it is only his third mma fight. thompson is a suitable one if you ask me. everybody fights these kinds of guys when they are beginning a career, its just kimbos beginning is on national tv.
nice
I think as far as skill goes thompson is a good next match for kimbo but his chin is way too weak. Give him somebody that take a hit or two.
Kimbo is great for the sport..... There is no way he is ready for FEDOR but Thompson is a good fight at this point of his carrear..
The Japs had it right by marketing/showcasing fighters with cans, not that Thompson is a pushover.
