Kimo vs. Pat Smith: How Good?

Tapes with just this single fight are offered on some web sites for the same price as a tape with an entire fight card. I've heard its one of the great fights. Can anyone comment on this fight and if its worth say $20 for a tape with just this one fight one it? Thanks in advance...

I knew they fought but I've never heard a description of the fight.

Check out sherdog, they probably have a clip of it.

The description on the web made the fight sound like one of the great ones - said it was an "extreme NHB bout" where evidently both fighters pulled out all the stops. Sounded like a classic no rules war.

It may sound shallow, but the old "no rules" fights, still seem to have something special. Maybe it was simply that people didn't know as much then and thus the solution space, namely the amount of things that could possibly happen, seemed larger. Not sure why, but when I slap in an old UFC tape amidst current venues, it always seems to have some special quality. Maybe its just nostalgia...

OH yes, a classic indeed. It's right up there with Mark Hall vs. Harold Howard. (vomit) Funny for the novelty, but in terms of skill, absolute shite.

Pretty good old school NHB. Kimo charges across (imagine that), bulls Smith over and rains down punches.

Samoa.

Scratch that, Samoa. Kimo charges across the ring and seems to accidentally land on Pat Smith somehow, which takes them to the ground. Pat Smith then looks like he's trying to make Kimo submit by using the guard like a WWE-ish body scissor hold, Kimo then ends up on top of Pat Smith and beats his face into a pornographically bloody mess and Smith taps out. (I'm making this sound much cooloer than it actually is...although Smith is pretty messed up afterwards)

I've been wanting to see this fight for a long time!!!

that fight kinda sucked, I can't imagin why it would be sold as a single fight

I have an edited (highlight) vid of that fight at my website, www.christopherscanlon.com. Enjoy.

Thanks greenknght....

I actually enjoy these older matches better than the decisions fests we have today

L M MUTHA F A O!!!!!!

It's an entertaining old-school fight, but no way is it worth 20.00

One of the great things about this match is that it's acutally in a pro-wrestling steel cage.

Smith does put up more of a fight than some descriptions above . . . he lands a couple of knees standing if I remember right.

Have a clip of the fight somewhere. Not bad. Wouldn't waste 20 in it though.

its hard to watch lots of those old fights- the fans today usually know more correct technique than the fighters did
