"I’ve been preparing mentally for all these big moments through every wrestling match I’ve had before I even got to MMA," Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal told Bleacher Report on a media conference call.

"That’s why when people talk about MMA being hard, to me it’s easy compared to wrestling."

"Going overseas, wrestling guys from Russia and Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. You gotta deal with the fact that in order to get paid you gotta win, and then you gotta deal with the referees cheating you."

"I’m not worried about no upsets (vs. Mysiala). I’m just worried about me executing my game plan and winning these fights."

"I went to Holland and made sure that [the knee injury] was all straight. I went there to strictly test myself against topflight kickboxers and strikers. That’s why I went there, to see if my knee could hold up, and I left with no injuries."

"I know Przemyslaw—I call him 'coleslaw'—I know he’s tough, has good submissions…I just gotta worry about myself being healthy for the next round. That’s all I’m worried about."

He is right. All hail the King! Phone Post

Is it just me or is he annoying? He was not that great in SF, why should I take him seriously now he is doing the fake wrestling crap?

I liked 80s rasslin, new rasslin is similar. so ill try it out.

Pro wrestling is very physically taxing probably more than mma but a grappling contest is never harder than a striking and grappling contest. He only had 2 real wins anyways roger Gracie and gegard. Other than that he's been tkod and the rest were/are cans. He was champion of an organization that has been doomed for a while. Everyone smart got out in time. The rest died with strikeforce Phone Post

Diss every fighter cause you're a diva ? What a baby . Phone Post

kwnel2178 - Here is a list of things that are easier for Mo than MMA
1. Being unpopular.
2. Bitching about the fans.
3. Sounding anti-intellectial
4. Making racist generizations

I was with you until you said "generizations". I don't know that word. lol That sounds anti-intellectial. (sp. - intellectual.)

Voted up anyway. lol

You are aware that he in fact a real, elite free wrestler? And he was pretty good in StrikeForce, and he's got lots of room improve his weak points, making his potential even higher. If he gets everyhting else even close to his wrestling, he's going to be a monster.

He's talking Competitive wrestling kiddies and has a point, not the Gay sex power hour that is WWE

Anyone who says taking an Anderson Silva knee to the solar plexus is easier than the Ass pirate Acrobats is an idiot.

He is a solid wrestler, but standup is ok. He will probably be a monster because he will be facing mediocre competition. I'm pumped for more free fights but don't like being told hey watch him,he is a star because we said so. He could not defend his belt once in SF, and was average most of the time their. Not trying to bash him just saying he is not as good as people think.

"He could not defend his belt once in SF..."

In other words, he was their Champion.

"He is a solid wrestler..."

Only on the UG is a national Champion merely a "solid wrestler".

Do these guys even know what they're watching?

Yeah a lot of folks who never fought in Pride or the UFC probably think this Phone Post

He lost one fight when his knee was blown out. The dude is great. Phone Post

He wouldn't say this if he was fighting structure format like pride or vale tudo different perspective he would have.

It is.. And his "win" over gegard was fucking garbage.

Prowrestling is harder than mma. Far more injuries and constant work. He's with the easier travel org too. If it was the wwe, he'd be on the road 300 days a year and 4-5 shows a week. Phone Post

Considering I've never tried pro wrestling I'll take your word for it Phone Post

He lost to gegard in my eyes. Phone Post

Even if you believe that... Mo fought him after only 6 fights to his name.

So even if you belive that... which is wrong, you are still saying a top 5 LHW in eeked out maybe a split decision against Mo when he was as green as can be.

Mo's striking has improved 10fold. If healthy I don't see anyone beating Mo outside of Jones. That's the fight I want to see. Phone Post

Hey genius he wasn't talking WWE. He is talking wrestling, real not fake wrestling. And it's true.

LMAO

Although King Mo was talking about wrestling, not pro wrestling, several people who do both have said pro wrestling is tougher on the body than MMA. Looking at the death rate in pro wrestling, I would say the facts bear out that statement.

Two different kinds of tough, IMO. Pro wrestling definitely is harder on the body. Training for wrestling/MMA probably requires more discipline and mental toughness.

Mma wrestling and college wrestling are quite different. If college wrestling was a dierect tranlation to mma wrestling phil davis would be considered the best in that catagory. The man who most see as the best wrestler in theUFC GSP did not even have a wrestling background. Mo would not stand a chance against anyone decent in the UFC. He is very similar to CB Dolloway in terms of skill set, and that is the best he can probably hope for. Sorry for the spelling typing on my iPad is annoying.
