I must have like 50 apps or so on my phone, maybe 10-15 are paid apps. and never once did it even cross my mind to say " hum...I paid for this app, why are they not updating it whenever I want an update"

This might just be the single most ridiculous statement I have seen by a representative of this website...and that is saying A LOT.
Basically, what you are saying is, "Hey, I am frivolous and do not care if the things I buy are of acceptable functionality. In fact, I buy broken shit all the time and so should you! And don't complain about it."
That is pure idiocy, and I wouldn't try to spread that brand of thinking around if I were you.. Fact is, the Android app is pathetic, and the functionality is not acceptable for a pay app. Period.

Phony argument. You understand why people complain that a forum app for Android can't interact with the forums. I'd venture to guess you have the iphone app. Why? If you call making the app functional us complaining that you guys are "not updating it whenever I want an update" you probably (respectfully) shouldn't be in the app business.

Now if the app didn't work at all, I could see that being a huge problem and I would be right there with those of you complaining, but the app works fine, it just doesn't have all the functionality that we would like it to, which is coming, so to complain about functionality to be is just trivial. And it was never advertised whatsoever to have the full functionality of the website. But soon it will, which is great.
Also, for MentaL, if you already have the app, you will not be charged to update it.

I bought the iphone app on the original release, when the posting feature came out I had to buy it again.
I have an android so i am not positive, but almost positive the update won't cost anything. Again, just cause I work here, does not mean I am the end all be all, I will talk to Chris today if I can, He is in vegas for a meeting. I am sorry if you guys think I am being a prick, i am trying not to be. Even with all the time I spent at this site, it is hard for me to imagine being so upset over the app, as I am not sure how often I would feel the need to post with my app anyway. As you can see I only have 2700 something posts in over 10 years, so that functionality isn't as important to me. But i do realize it is to some of you, so I will look into if there will be costs, and if gabe has any more updates on it.

I won't waste too much time arguing against a paper-thin defense for an inferior application. The fact is, the app does not function for Android as it does for Iphone. It is a browser, and that is useless. There are plenty of browsers for Android that are free, and can browse/post better than the worthless UG app. And this being true, what justifies the app as a pay app when it lacks the functionality of all its counterparts?
If you have to argue against your paying customers that your product is worth something, you have already missed the point...and it is hilarious.
There are a million dummies that will buy an app (or anything else) that doesnt work even tho you can get a free one that works fine. Blame yourselves not the people making bank

Sorry to hear that, I really will ask gabe about that. What kind of phone do you have? I have an HTC EVO, and I can say no bullshit, no company man talk or nothing, my app has never frozen or forced closed once since i bought it.
I can say from experience using both, that the Droid has a lot of problems with a ton of different aps, in my opinion, from using both, the droid is an inferior product. As soon as she is eligible for an upgrade, she is getting rid of the Droid.
I would rather have an Iphone anyways.
But it sucks that the droid ap for the UG does not work properly.
If your droid is not as good as a iphone, you have a shitty droid phone. My Galaxy S2 is in a whole another dimension compared to my previous Iphone 4 in every way. I have had zero problems with any apps.
With that said, I only use the browser since I can quote, make threads, and post. It's pretty obvious this should be possible with the android app but frankly I don't care since my browser is extremely fast.
