Klay Thompson's signature shoe (WTF)

Crystal Meth Jesus - Ok?

He's the second best player on the GOAT team. He just torched the Thunder.

And he rocks ugly cartoon-looking shoes from some janky Chinese company nobody's every heard of?

Garnett was sponsored by them too Phone Post 3.0

I did not know that. It's still a hideous shoe. And I've still never seen ANYBODY wear this brand.

Hits 11 threes in game six.

0-6 to start game 7 and keeps pulling because he knows he's the second best shooter in the league. Finishes 7-13.

If these shoes were selling at Steve & Barry's, you should be lined up outside with your weekly allowance to cop a pair.

They run the FILA brand over in China. They're pretty popular. Just not in the US. Phone Post 3.0

Lol his face says it all. Wtf are these japs doing with this shit man!?

If he can corner the Asian market he will have much higher income potential than he would as an also-ran with a major American brand. Smart move on his part, other players could learn from it. Phone Post 3.0

Same reason Buick was saved

If he is the number one NBA star in China selling shoes he's going to be rich as fuck. So the bottom looks silly who cares. Does it give you traction and do they feel good. The top is actually pretty decent compared to most of the designs that are "star custom". Phone Post 3.0

He got paid. Good for him. Those are awful looking. Phone Post 3.0

Compared to just about every signature shoe by Nike the last decade they look pretty damn good. Better than the Curry UA shoes by far too. The tread looks weird but no one is looking at that anyway. I don't see the hate. Plus financially for him is he is their biggest basketball star in one of China's biggest shoe companies he's going to make a killing off this. Phone Post 3.0

Did anyone else double check the poster's name after reading this to see if it was EY? Phone Post 3.0

Here's a sneaker blog's comments on the exact sneaker reveal pictured above:

  • We get why NBA athletes sign with Chinese sneaker brands. They overpay and sometimes that chunk of change is too hard to pass up. But these athletes that take their namesake to the Far East are typically over-the-hill has-beens who don’t really have a place in the U.S. market anymore – guys like Kevin Garnett, Shaq, and so on that are looking to make a quick buck before they hang it up for good. But Klay? He’s a young superstar on the rise that just came off winning an NBA title, and his stock has never been higher after he helped the Warriors to an epic season. Nike probably regrets letting him walk away to another brand away a la Steph Curry, but truthfully speaking, Klay isn’t on that signature shoe level. At the same time he’s a face you want on your side of the brand, because he represents part of the new generation of stars that will take over the league.

  • Speaking of faces, Klay Thompson looks like he’s holding back tears as his ANTA signature shoe gets revealed. His greatest regret of his life thus far is playing out before his eyes in the form of a shoe that and brand that nobody in his home country gives two damns about. It’s a direct rip-off of the Curry One/Hyperdunk aesthetic and even has that foot-form outsole from the UA Speedform running shoe. Nobody in the U.S. would be caught dead in a pair of ANTA Klays and that’ll hurt his marketability in a big way because sneakers are a necessary channel for an athlete to truly build up that “brand”. Way to bury yourself, Klay.

They look like Spider-Man's signature shoe

Bury yourself in mega millions that is. Him getting paid big bucks now by Atna doesn't mean he can never go to Nike or Adidas. Phone Post 3.0
