I see that tony thompsons going to be fighting wladimir klitschko in germany next month. Anyone else going to watch this?
lamon brewster and ross purity and corey sanders toppled wlad already. sam has not fought anyone outside of james toney and wlad. james toney is a great fighter, wlad may be a great fighter one day.
my point is the heavyweights are shit because you are having the best fighters losing to multiple nobodies. it would be nice to see a modern time when the heavyweight greats only lose to other greats (ali losing to frazier, frazier losing to foreman, foreman losing to ali))
Wlad already destroyed lamon brewster in a rematch, so you may wanna take that one down.
Vitaly took out both sanders and puritty; who are both pretty much done... Sanders was knocked out earlier this year, in 1 round, to a guy who's 14-5-1 and Puritty's only win in the last 4 years came against a guy whose record is 6 and 11.
There's no doubt in anyone's mind that Wlad would correct any earlier slip ups in short order against these 2; look what he did to brewster - who'd only lost the UD to lyakhovich. He'd be criticized for giving either of them a big pay day.
I really don't understand the hate on klitschko; except for maybe dropping 3 that he shouldn't have & putting on a jab clinic against Peters. I wonder if he'd still be getting the same hate had he put Sam away in the 12th when he had him goin. I got dropped the other day in the gym by a tall noob doing the "clubbing the back of the head" thing; so I can vouch for it's effectiveness as a cheap tactic.
I wish Toney actually did more training than sitting in the ring for 15 rounds, getting pounded on by smaller young bucks. Then I think people wouldn't take his lack of getting KO'd as such a condemnation of the heavyweight division.
fair enough on brewster porkchop.
no hate on wlad anymore from me. i dunno if he is a "great" fighter but he is a great fighter. the tactic he used against peter i had no problem with. he had many questions about his chin (at that point)and the fight in the bag against a big puncher, why go out and try to bang him out of there in the 12th? that doesn't make a bit of sense.
